Man Utd have gone out to a 5 point lead over Chelsea with just 3 games to go in the EPL title race.

At the other end of the table, Sheff Utd move to 39 points after their win over already relugated Watford; Fulham is on 36; West Ham and Wigan are now only separated by goal difference on 35; and Charlton on 33 with just 2 games to go. Two of these face regulation.

Overnight EPL results:

Chelsea 2 - 2 Bolton
Everton 2 - 4 Man Utd
Portsmouth 2 - 1 Liverpool
Man City 0 - 2 Aston Villa
Middlesbrough 2 - 3 Tottenham
Blackburn 4 - 1 Charlton
Sheff Utd 1 - 0 Watford
Wigan 0 - 3 West Ham

Man U has all but sowed up the title. A draw/loss by Chelsea to Ar_senal tonight and Man U are premiers. Man U can claim the title anyway midweek when they face Chelsea.

In the relugation battle, important wins to Fulham and West Ham while Sheff Utd and Wigan lost. That leaves Fulham on 39 pts, Sheff Utd and West Ham 38, Wigan on 35 and Charlton who play Tottenham on Monday on 33. Already relugated Watford is on 27. The bottom 3 drop down. Next weekend is the final round of matches.

Overnight EPL results:

Man City 0 - 1 Man Utd
Everton 3 - 0 Portsmouth
Fulham 1 - 0 Liverpool
Newcastle 0 - 2 Blackburn
Reading 0 - 2 Watford
West Ham 3 - 1 Bolton
Wigan 0 - 1 Middlesbrough
Aston Villa 3 - 0 Sheff Utd

Tevez is single handedly trying to keep the hammers up on his own. That boy is a leader...in a crisis he's come to the fore- and even if im not a hammers supporter he is great to watch. I wish the Tiges had a couple of players with the brains, skill and nouse of Tevez...we'd be in the finals lol.

Man Utd are the EPL champions after Chelsea could only manage a one all draw with Ar_senal.

In the League Championship, Sunderland and Birmingham City have won promotion up to the Premier League next season. The third promoted club will come from the winner of the playoffs between Derby County, West Brom, Wolves and Southampton.

Not complaining but the Hammers are very lucky. Charlton gone as well overnight so we only have to stay ahead of the Wigan. Hopefully Man U will be in party mode and let the Hammers get the point they need to stay up.

West Ham survives  :bow. Tevez scored the winner against Man U. Wigan also survived knocking off Sheff Utd. So the Blades, Charlton and Watford are relegated.

Kewell was back in the Liverpool side after his return from injury and scored from the penalty spot in injury time to get a 2-2 draw for the Reds against Charlton. Viduka scored twice for Middlebrough to continue his red hot scoring form since Christmas. All good signs for the upcoming Asian Cup. Kewell just needs to get a medical clearance from Liverpool to play for the Socceroos.

Final week results for the EPL:

Blackburn 3 - 3 Reading
Bolton 2 - 2 Aston Villa
Chelsea 1 - 1 Everton
Liverpool 2 - 2 Charlton
Man Utd 0 - 1 West Ham
Middlesbrough 3 - 1 Fulham
Portsmouth 0 - 0 Ar_senal
Sheff Utd 1 - 2 Wigan
Tottenham 2 - 1 Man City
Watford 1 - 1 Newcastle

1   Man Utd       89 - Title and Champions League
2   Chelsea       83 - Champions League
3   Liverpool      68 - Champions League qualifiers
4   Ar_senal       68 - Champions League qualifiers
5   Tottenham    60 - UEFA Cup

Thanks Guys

This one was a fluke, I had no idea what I was doing and got very lucky in the early rounds

Anyway. I will take the win but I would much prefer a Tigers win.

Thanks to oneyed for keeping us uptodate with this one.

FA Cup Final
« Reply #147 on: May 20, 2007, 05:25:41 AM »
What a shocker of a FA Cup Final  :-X. Apart from Drogba's one-two with Lampard and winning goal, that was the worse game of soccer ever played. The first half was painful to watch  :sleep. Chelsea and Man U must have got their gameplans off Hawthorn and St Kilda  :chuck.

Thankfully I missed the Hawthorn-St Kilda game CUB but I heard what a shocker it was from Saint supporters at Richmond station who left just after 3/4 time and were getting stuck into their new coach lol.

You can tell where AFL coaches get their chip chip chip crap from watching a soccer game like that  :sleep.
