Title: One Tiger less ? / Hall on long-term injury list
Post by: Life goes on on May 16, 2007, 09:01:43 AM
You might find that we will be one player less today,?
Anyone know what rookies are ready to be promoted as a certain player will be placed on the long term injury list today, an no its not Nathan Brown.
Would think this players future is all but over!

Would the player who's future is in doubt be Trent Knobel ?

Ray Hall

Wow!  Seriously shattered.  :lol  :gotigers

Anyway I dont think either of our two remaining rookies are ready to be promoted but if Carl Peterson is fit again, he is back with the main training group, It might simply be King demoted for Peterson and then promoted again for Razor.

Can Peterson play for Coburg while on the Long-term injury list or he must come off it even for 2nds??

If so, thats my answer.

If not, neither Graham or Clingan are damanding a game by their form so no promotion.

Ray Hall
Not surprised as he hasn't been seen at training in yonks.

Only Clingan and Graham are left as rookies. I'd doubt either will be promoted.

I doubt Clingan would be promoted at this stage he's been playing in the Coburg ressies

Ray Hall hey.... gee, and on 99 games too.  It'd be just our luck that his progeny will be the next wayne carey...

Nothing yet on the official site Ramps.

I think Peterson hopes to play in around a month's time. We would just replace him with Razor on the long-term injury list.

That looks like happening to us with Trevor Poole's son  :-\.

Can anyone verify that Johnno(Wayne) has been asked to work directly with a couple of the kids in addition
to his role as runner ??

If it happens, I'd say it will be to keep Jake King promoted because Carl Peterson is now available according to the latest injury update.

They might be waiting on Polo's scans. If he needs surgery then he could be put on the long-term injury list as well.

The Club hasn't announced it but Razor must now be on the long-term injury list otherwise Jake King wouldn't be allowed to play this week.

Maybe not - with no VFL game this week we could delay taking Carl off the injured list (although I'm not familiar with the exact rules about this) for another week.

doesn't Gaspar's retirement come into the equation?

No, Mopsy.
A rookie can only go onto the Primary List for a long-term injury.

It's now been publicly confirmed.

Quote
the immediate playing future of veteran big man Ray Hall, who has been stuck on 99 games all season, is in doubt with Hall now on the long-term injury list - having not played so far this year due to a hip injury.

The decision to place Hall on the long-term injury list means the Tigers will be able to continue playing rookie defender Jake King.

King was originally placed on the senior list at the expense of first year draftee Carl Petersen, who was battling osteitis pubis, but Petersen has now recovered and is back on the Tigers' senior list.

Ch 7 news tonight virtually said it was all over for Dufus Hall, stranded on 99 games, club out of patience with his injuries, indifferent form and party boy antics!

I didn't see the news report so did Ch 7 actually say "party boy"? They were most likely referring to him getting suspended by the club for 3 matches earlier this year for getting in a pub fight over a game of pool. That we know is a fact. He hasn't been pulled up for drinking unlike players from a black and white club  ;).

No they din't say "party boy antics" they said "off field misdeamenours (sp)? And referred to his pool game exploits

It was obviously a very slow news day - if young Tony's been sitting on this story for months ::) They also interviewed Miller over it and he said that no decision had been made but it would be difficult for him when we have such a young list and would be looking at getting more kids at draft time

Razor's comments from the press conference via Sportal:

Quote
"It's (injury) sort of left me at the point where I have no choice - I can't play at this level or any level," Hall said.

"I'm certainly going to look back on this chapter of my life as a great time. I'm a better person now than when I started my footy and that's something I'm proud of.

"It's been enjoyable to find different challenges along the way. At times I played at full-back on the best forwards in the game … but it was good to be able to play in the midfield and run around and try and get a kick myself."

Plough on Razor from the Age:

Quote
"We expected to have these guys for a longer period of time," Richmond
coach Terry Wallace said. "We haven't got anyone sitting in front of us that's 33, 34, 35 years of age and we would have hoped to have them for a lot longer, but unfortunately it hasn't worked out that way."

Originally from Woy Woy in NSW, Hall had been at Richmond longest, having played his entire career there after his debut in 1999.

He was regarded as a "Mr Fix-It" around the club, playing on some of the biggest names in the competition and having been called upon to play positions as varied as half-forward flank and ruck.

"Not at any stage of the year has Ray looked likely to be able to get up and play," Wallace said.

"What I said to the players about Ray was that until you don't have somebody, you don't realise how much you miss them at times."
