Played the first two or three games in our seniors and was among the best before he went off to play for the state side. Good rebounding across half back, and has great fitness and run­ning ability. He's one of those guys who is really hard to match up on because he is tall but also mobile and good below his knees. He had 10 hard-ball gets late in the year against Gippsland where he was up in the ruck and then followed up the effort, which is a hard skill to teach big blokes. Unfortunately after the state carnival he had a chipped bone in his foot which really hampered him, but he wanted to keep playing because the Falcons were in the finals. He played with some difficulties late in the year but kept battling and he's since had the operation and come back well. He's just got enormous upside. Plays a little bit like Dustin Fletcher - good skills. An inside midfielder who is just a Garry Hocking type - always at the bottom of a pack.A real stoppage specialist and tested well for agility and speed (2.83 for 20 metres) at the state screening. If you watched him in a cone-to-cone drill he just looks like an onballer. "Josh is an attacking midfielder who can play as a small forward as well. He has just won his second state league premiership in Tasmania so he's very well regarded at senior level in this state. He was captain of the Under 1 8 side and MVP for Tasmania at the national champion­ships. Interviewed brilliantly at the draft camp and earned a write-up for it with quotes from Brisbane about how good he was. His agility reading was six and he ran a 2.92 for 20 metres. We'd be hopeful that he could go as high as the second round. Last year at the national championships he was top 10 for disposals and this year he topped a couple of stat categories.
