A have a couple of questions for you One-eyed if you would be so kind.

Is the rookie list being extended in 2009 to 6?

What is the minumum & maximum amount of players that must/can be turned over in a year?

I heard that all contracts need to be finalised by Trade Week to allow delisted players a better opportunity to resume their careers - is this the case?

What is the difference between the two list lodgements?

Thanks

Don't think it's been confirmed yet, should all be sorted at the same time the GC17 picks are announced

You have to take 3 picks in the national draft, how you get rid of players is up to you (retire/trade/delist)
You can only take part in 5 trades
I don't think there is a limit on players you can delist, but you need to be able to pay 92.5% of the TPP the following year

Dunno

What is the difference between the two list lodgements?
1st list lodgement is the main one after the trade period is finished
2nd is another chance to delist players after the draft list is finalised so you can free up more selections
3rd is another chance to delist players prior to the pre-season draft & rookie draft, most senior players are contracted past the first two lodgement dates, so if a player is intending to walk out on the club and go into the PSD it stops them from going into the National Draft.

You can have 6 rookies now if you have no veterans outside the senior list. For every veteran outside the senior list you have one less rookie listed player. We have Richo and Bowden as outside veterans so that's why we have 4 rookies.

I think they are considering giving exisiting clubs 3 extra rookies once the new team(s) enters the National draft. So that would be 2010 initially.

As for the maximum changes you can make - it's only constricted by the number of draft picks you have. The more players you offload, the more picks you gain. The only problem with that is many of those picks you gain will be late picks if you delist too many players and you could be just replacing ordinary player on your list with a kid who has next to no chance of making it himself either. For every Tuck who gets picked up with pick 70+ and makes it, there's probably 10 kids who get delisted within 2-3 years of being drafted.

Is the National Draft later this year ???

I know I was overseas last year for trade week but the Draft seems late this year

Not unusual WP. It's normally held on the last Saturday in November.

Not on the net but just confirming King is contracted for next year...

HE'S JAKE
By Craig Hutchison
Sunday Herald-Sun 07 JUN 2009, Page S19

HIS decision to join Chris Newman in that infamous meeting in Terry Wallace's office has done little to threaten Jake King's career.

It has emerged King is contracted until the end of 2010.

His good form for Coburg means he is likely to get more opportunities this season.
