Tiger Jack Riewoldt maturing as a top centre half-forward
Jay Clark | July 14, 2008
...
After a slow start to his AFL career, the 19-year-old came of age yesterday, leading Richmond to a crushing 77-point win against West Coast at Subiaco Oval.
...

lol. Slow start. He's 19 FFS! How fast do they expect a kid to mature and become AFL standard and hardened. Jay Clark has been reading too many football forums.

Wtf is his problem?

Why must he always BARK orders to the entire forward line Every time he misses a shot on goal? - and these times are many.

Is it his way of deflecting the heat of missing another goal,a zone of mental safety,a place for him to hide?

It's not as though anyone really listens to him, ffs,i mean, why would you?

He's a big mouth who's performances dont match his blah-blah.

Plenty of work to do here...start with kicking straight under pressure(including not too short) and most importantly STFU!

Jack needs to get into the gym and work on building up his quad and calf muscles in his legs to generate more power and distance in his kicking. Once he gets beyond 35m out he struggles to kick straight or even make the distance  :-\.

Totally over rated player that started by being over rated by media commentators and blissfully followed by the herd mentality of the public. He is a very ordinary footballer that unfortunatly for us has a relationship and name that links to a real one.

he is young and a great mark for his size. will get better

what he does is show leadership. and tries to ensure the fwds are in position in their zones or other set ups as sppn as he misses a shpt

good on him, he is still a better kick than richo

What do some people expect from a 20 year old kid.  38 goals from 36 games is not that bad.

Cousin Nick had 53 goals from 48 games after his first 3 years.......Jacks on track to match that.

Problem with us tiger mob....we expect too much too soon.

FFS, he's only 20.  ::)  Want more do you want from a kid taking the number 1 key backman in the opposing team most weeks??

Sure he's not setting the world on fire but few 20 year old (or under) key forwards are, and he's showed time and time again VFL is childs play for him so how about we show some bloody patience for a change and let him grow?

A bit of perspective if I may.  If he'd kicked 3.1 instead of 1.3 there would be praise for 3 games of good form (well in my opinion he was good against Freo and the Dogs) he's shown since returning from being dropped.  He had an off kicking for goal night, so be it.

That said I agree with bracket's OP and think it is a method of deflection in an attempt to get the heat off himself.

I was talking about goalkicking when they play forward. They are different players otherwise with Richo a big KPP and Jack really more a 3rd tall. I like Jack as he has footy smarts around goal and yes he's still young but he needs to strengthen his legs to be able to kick those goals from 40-50m out he struggles with.

i dont get to see live games, but the tv always focusses on the kicker after a behind, so naturally you'd think he always does it after he misses a goal.  question is though, does he do it when anyone else misses...  you probably can't tell, well not from watching on tv thats for sure.

got no problem with Jack. He will improve.

Its our forward line that needs help. We are one big man short of getting that area right and i think once Jack becomes the 2nd big man up he will improve.

As it stands now he is our main target and i dont think it sits well with him.

We desperately need a big forward if we are to go anywhere
