In all the confusion about Ellis being named AA I made a mistake too. What I should have written was "Ellis not in my starting 18" as per my side I named in another thread.

Anyway all jokes aside, if there is even a debate about this kid he needs to knuckle down and work on things we all see wrong with his game. But he is not the Lone Ranger there.
The one thing the kid does do is find the footy which is half the battle, now he just needs to work on having the confidence to take the game on when he desposes of it.

He runs himself ragged and gets to lots of contests. As such he can be stuffed when he gets there but its a good attitude. At least he runs around, at times our team is stationary. Id keep him.

The point is they are too similar, outside, soft.

Then he grabbed two chopsticks and stuck them in his mouth , pretending to be a walrus

Should have traded him last summer. We would have got something real purty for 'im.

why'd my reply to Big tone get deleted?

again, i stand corrected. ellis was in the squad of 40, not the final 22. which means he was only in the top 40 players in the comp but apparently not in our best 22. concerns me greatly

Not this year was it? I believe he was in some of the media's 40 squad but not the official AFL's 40. We had Rance, Jack, Dusty and Lids in the top 40.

Ellis' form in the first half of the year would have pushed for AA. He dropped off to much.

And personally I think he's not a complete squib - have seen him cop a hit or two but could certainly be tougher...

Kid had an excellent year by and large.

Faded a bit late in the season, got tagged out completely in the EF. Shame some people are hating on him so much for that - personally I'm most disappointed with blokes like Lids and Cotchin, our 'leaders' who 100% DID NOT STAND UP.

He's just turned 22. Definitely in our best team. He's not even anywhere in our worst half dozen lol.

whilst this is true, we decided to keep him.
IMO, this is the general attitude across the board.

I don't think people think we have the goods. I think many think we have 75-80% of the goods and we need to somehow get that extra 20-25% through trading and drafting. We "only" got Yarran and Townsend but they may be more than we think - they may add 10%. Improvement in Lennon, CEllis and Butler and Menadue may inch us closer. Pick 12 may add a few more %.

We just have to wait and see.
