I agree HarryH it looks good

My Credit Card and Bank manager will be very happy with only 3 intersate trips ;D. About time - we had 5 trips this year. 3 in the space of 4 weeks

Have a question though - why don't we ever get a home game against the Kanagaroos? Don't remember the last time we had a home game against 'em

Round 3 is Rivalry round (LMAOO).

Us against the Bulldogs ?    WTF ??

Since when have we become bitter rivals.  Maybe rivals for the spoon of late  :lol

I believe it's an intra-club match lol with Wallace, Brown, Gilbee?, P.Bowden?, Rodan?  ;)

Could end up being the largest crowd to a Tiges-Dogs game.

I agree with Harry and WP it's a good draw playing wise. It's a kind draw with only 3 interstate trips all in the cool of the nightand none back to back. If we had a half-decent team we could get off to a flyer in the first 4 rounds.

The main cons are all the Sunday games (6 in a row to begin with  :o) and only 4 home games in the first 10 rounds. Not good finanically if the season is basically already over for us by mid-year.

M.C.G. 9
Docklands 9
Skilled  1
Subiaco 1
AMII  1
Gabba 1

Friday Night 1
Saturday 5
Saturday Night 4
Sunday 11
Sunday Night 1

Friday Night 2
Saturday 5
Saturday Night 3
Sunday 11
Sunday Night 1

I think TS made a typo - we play Brisbane on a saturday night the 21st.

2005 Season Draw - Richmond

ROUND 9 Friday, 20th May: Brisbane Lions vs. Richmond at Gabba (Night)

see HarryH's post:

ROUND 9 (Community Weekend)

Friday, 20th May
St. Kilda vs. Adelaide at Telstra Dome (Night)
Saturday, 21st May
Carlton vs. Melbourne at Optus Oval
Collingwood vs. West Coast at M.C.G.
Brisbane Lions vs. Richmond at Gabba (Night)
Port Adelaide vs. Essendon at AAMI Stadium (Night)
Sunday, 22nd May
Western Bulldogs vs. Sydney at S.C.G. (Early Start)
Geelong vs. Kangaroos at Skilled Stadium
Fremantle vs. Hawthorn at Subiaco (Delayed Start)

Funny how both Port Adelaide and Brisbane request Saturday night games against us and always get 'em. I know this sounds weird - but we draw big numbers interstate - the interstate teams always request us. I've been told if the interstate teams always ask for the Pies , then the Tigers :thumbsup

With that draw I think it's possible to win 10-12 games this year.

Kind of draw you'd like to have if you were a flag contender. As it stands, it won't mean a thing to us, we'll be down the bottom for sure.

I'm gonna go to one interstate game next year - haven't been for a couple of years - be good to go in a group next time.  If anyone is interested in going maybe we could go en masse or at least organise to sit together!

Tigers welcome family friendly fixture for ‘05
12:42:37 PM
Thu 30 September, 2004
richmon dfc.com.au

The Richmond Football Club has welcomed the Tigers’ 2005 fixture released today by the AFL.

“It’s fantastic news for families”, said Richmond’s CEO, Steven Wright.

“With 18 games at the MCG and Telstra Dome, the majority on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, it really is a family friendly draw. Richmond has a large family supporter base and the draw maximises the opportunities for families and children to attend.”

“It’s also a reasonable draw from a pure football perspective as we play interstate only three times (compared to five times in 2003 and 2004),” Wright said. “We also play only three of this year’s finalists twice.”

All-up, Richmond will play 9 games (7 home) at the MCG next season, 9 (4 home) at Telstra Dome, 1 at Skilled Stadium, 1 at the Gabba, 1 at AAMI Stadium and 1 at Subiaco.

“While it is disappointing that we don’t have the season-opening ‘Blockbuster’ match against Collingwood, it’s pleasing that we now have home games at the MCG against our other traditional Victorian rivals Essendon, Carlton and St Kilda,” Wright said.

“Overall, it’s great news for our supporters. With our membership campaign starting in early October, this fixture, along with the recent appointment of senior coach, Terry Wallace, will be a great incentive to join the mighty Tigers as we begin afresh in 2005.”
