Sep 5, 2018 RICHMOND small forward Shai Bolton appears set to remain a Tiger, with his manager claiming confirmation of a new deal is imminent.
The 19-year-old, who is sidelined with a knee injury, put contract talks on hold at the start of the season.
However, his manager Ralph Carr says an extension to keep the West Australian at Punt Road is nearly formalised.
"Shai Bolton is going to re-sign with Richmond," Carr told News Corporation.
"It hasn't been announced yet, but it will be, and that's great news for the kid."
Bolton has been linked to North Melbourne and Adelaide in recent months, and there have always been suggestions he was interested in returning to his home state.
Yet despite limited AFL opportunities this season with Jack Higgins moving ahead of him in the small forward pecking order, he appears set to stay in the yellow and black.
"Richmond is where he should be, and I've said that to him all year," Carr said.
Bolton has played six AFL matches since he was drafted in the second round of the 2016 NAB AFL Draft.
He is expected to push for selection in the VFL finals team should it progress beyond this week's semi-final against Essendon.
