Tigers off to Townsville: Nov. 30 - Dec. 7
« on: November 13, 2014, 06:58:10 PM »
Richmond will head to tropical North Queensland in early December, for a week-long pre-season camp in Townsville.

The Tigers will continue their recent tradition of training in hot and humid conditions as they prepare for the upcoming season, with their previous two camps having been held in Cairns.

The camp, which runs from November 30 until December 7, will combine elements of football training, fitness and team bonding.

There will be two open training sessions for Tiger fans to attend, at Tony Ireland Stadium, starting at 9am on Monday, December 1 and Wednesday, December 3.

Great. More rubbish press about irrelevant chit for 95% of members from a community not willing to buy memberships.

Why not have open days in Melbourne?  Imagine feedback on training drills times fed to members and fans. 4$ cans. Open the bar.

1 week? I'd leave them up there until the pre-season games.

Well, if there's one thing I can say that Grigg does well - he certainly grows a decent 'stash. After that...

Hi Owl, Rugby still dominates up here in the north. With the Cowboys team in the league competition, AFL will always be a secondary sport. Cairns is much stronger with a greater ex Victorian population up there.

From RFC twitter:

Prepping for our first training session in Townsville this morning. #heattraining

First training session for the draftees is in the hot Townsville heat. Boxing partners @reecemck21 & @DanButler_8

No easing into it on pre-season camp. The boys had plenty of sprints to do at training today. #heattraining

Great to have the fans out here in Townsville to watch training today too. Thanks for coming #GoTiges
