This is tough now  :-\

B:    McGuane   Thursty    Connors
HB:  Newman    Moore     Tambling
C:    Richo        Deledio    McMahon
HF:  Morton     Riewoldt    Cotchin
F:    Browny      Hughes    Bowden
R:   Simmonds    Tuck     Foley
Int: Patto, White, Johnson, Jackson

Emg: Edwards, Polo, Schulz

It depends on what you class as best. Cogs at his best pre-injury would walk into the side but right now he's an unknown.

I tossed up between Patto and Gus. It wouldn't surprise me if Gus surprises a few people next year if he has a full preseason. At the moment Patto is our second ruck.

I haven't included any newbies either.

Yep very tough

B:    McGuane   Thursty    White
HB:  Newman    Moore     McMahon
C:    Richo        Deledio    Tambling
HF:  Morton     Riewoldt    Cotchin
F:    Browny      Hughes    Connors
R:   Simmonds    Tuck     Foley
Int: Patto, Schulz, Jackson, Bowden

Emg: Edwards, Polo, Johnson

I considered but left out Raines, Cogs (not sure where he is at), Rance

Dont think any of the new guys will be ready, think we may have a chance at seeing Vickery later on in the year.  Putt and Post probably in 2010.

Hislop and Thomson will need to force their way in based on performance, I cant place Johnson in the side at the moment and struggled a bit with Bowden.  Probably Connors will slip out (but I really like this boy).

I also dont think there is enough pace on the bench and would lean towards Edwards/Polo in place of Bowden.

This is my team by the end of the year -

B:    McGuane   Thursty    Rance
HB:  Newman    Moore     McMahon
C:    Richo        Deledio    Tambling
HF:  Morton     Riewoldt    Cotchin
F:    White      Hughes    Connors
R:    Simmonds    Tuck     Foley                                           Browny
Int:  Graham, Schulz, Jackson, Thomson                                            Bowden

Emg: Edwards, Polo, Hislop, Pattison

I have left out our past captain and Bowden who I feel are all getting past their prime and will be overlapped in terms of form by the end of the year. Depending on Browny's form he may swap with Connors in the forwardline. I deliberated over Richo for quite some time too - I'm not sure whether he will see the year out with injuries but in the end I thought I would remain positive and leave the superstar in there.

I agree with Chuck regarding the new draftees but Vickery may finish the season in the forwardline.

Tuck Coughlan Connors
Cotchin Riewoldt Tambling
Brown Richo Morton
Simmonds Deledio Foley

White Thomson Vickery McMahon

- I would like Shane Edwards in the XXII but struggle to fit him in.

C:    Richo        Deledio    Polo
HF:  Morton     Riewoldt    Cotchin
F:    Brown      Bowden     Edwards

Just reckon if a couple of the youngsters come along then he will drop down the pecking order a bit

Yes, well it does look quite good.
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

I have begun to dislike proposed teams with Richo at FF. We look much more dangerous with him on a wing.
