Taking Geelong’s 2007 list as the benchmark, we’ll look at each team’s list while considering four key factors:

* Age
* Experience
* Height
* Key positions

Of course, we know other, less tangible factors influence a side’s succesor failure, such as injuries, suspensions, team stability, perhaps team spirit, and certainly the small matter of skill. But few of these can be reasonably assessed at the beginning of a year. What can be assessed, we’ll take a look at.

At least Matt Burgan has taken the time to review and analyse (unlike our mate Rohan Conmanelly).

The big thing for me that is not reviewed is the depth issue.  I can see only 2 players threatening the top 25 (Connors & Rance), so the quality of the list in terms of depth is really the big issue facing RFC which can only be solved over time and drafts.

True Darth. We still have a hole in our list in terms of 23-27 year olds. I don't see our depth genuinely improving until Lids and co. all hit their early-mid 20s.

Also the way Burgan breaks down the age brackets doesn't show in the 23-28 age group it's 20-10 in Geelong's favour (excluding rookies).
