All those people who have been calling Jack selfish should be shown that article. Speaks volumes of his attitude regardless of how he appears occasionally on the field. Amazing talent is our Jack....just needs to find his kicking boots again  :thumbsup

Jack's mixed day

A hush went around the MCG when Jack Riewoldt came up clasping his right knee after landing awkwardly in a final-quarter marking contest. Thankfully for the Tigers Riewoldt – after receiving some treatment – returned to action. Earlier, the Tiger spearhead started with a bang by kicking two goals in the opening term and being involved in Richmond's first four score involvements, opposed to Blues youngster Josh Bootsma. After the rot had sent in, Michael Jamison was swung on to Riewoldt and played a terrific role in blanketing the Tigers star. Riewoldt did not register a goal on Jamison, who continues to fly under the radar as a key defender who gets the job done each week.

Opened up Vickery though who kicked three. He had Jamison initially.

Every team has a key defender. It's like a tagger. The other dudes need to hit the scoreboard.

Doc Larkins last night said Jack could come up this week but if Jack is still sore in the knee in a day or two then he'll be rested.

Save him for round 23 against Essendondrugs. The more I think about it we'll play them in week 1 of the finals also just like 2001 when we played them in the final round and in our first final.

Rest him.

McBean, Vickery and Astbury/Elton forward.

Grimes (needs leg time), Rance and Chaplin back.

I dont think McBean is an option seeing they are saying he has most likely broken his ankle in the VFL yesterday

The irony this week is Jack has played 99 consecutive games and this week would be his 100th straight if he can get up and play.

Coleman Medal race set for final-day face-off
By Peter Ryan
afl.com.au
Tuesday, August 20, 2013

THE 2013 Coleman Medal is unlikely to be decided until the last day of the home and away season.

Riewoldt is a doubtful starter this week against Greater Western Sydney after hurting his knee against Carlton.

He kicked three goals against the Giants in 2012 and won't get it as easy as some imagine.

Despite perception, only eight players have kicked five goals or more in games against the Giants.

Riewoldt averaged 2.6 goals a game in the past five weeks and kicked two against Essendon in round nine. He looks merely a rough chance to add to his Coleman Medal tally.
