Lennon looked ok.
Jackson very underdone
Gordon good when forward
Stephenson very poor game.
Darou had an average game.
Foley below his normal standards.
Miles average.
Batchellor gave his opponent too much space.
Williams running around lost.
Lloyd barely got a run.
McIntosh was ok at times.

Best on ground again was the rotations organiser. Had more rotations then Richmond had kicks.

Development should mean game time WP. Not 5000 rotations.

In Praccy games the fitness people limit players game time

All I am saying is that people better get used to our VFL side not wining all the time because wins aren't the focus, development is.

hmm if development is key how many juniors will we have each week at vfl mate that  side has an abundance of big bodied experienced players. if they cant win and develop players with that sort of setup they have the wrong people in charge.
you want a winning culture and breed confidence win games of footy it aint rocket science.
i for one am sick to death of the excuses we find all sorts of reasons for not winning weather that be afl or vfl.

Richmond’s Ben Lennon and Western Bulldog Marcus Bontempelli impressed in the VFL

Herald-Sun
March 22, 2014

RICHMOND and Western Bulldogs’ prized draft picks took another step towards validating their summer hype with impressive performances in last night’s VFL practice match.

Ben Lennon, who joined the Tigers with the No. 12 pick, collected 16 first-half disposals at Whitten Oval after minor knee surgery last month, while best-and-fairest winner Daniel Jackson got through the hit-out and should bolster the AFL side next week.

Jackson’s pre-season was interrupted by a hamstring strain but he is expected to win promotion to Richmond’s side for Thursday’s blockbuster against Carlton.

Dogs No. 4 pick Marcus Bontempelli is starting to creep into AFL contention after overcoming a small knee setback last month.

The 192cm midfielder roamed the ground impressively with his long arms and surprising speed standing out.

Bontempelli, who plays in Scott Pendlebury’s mould, joined the Dogs as a raw and skinny 17-year-old but has his teammates excited with his similarities to emerging star Jack Macrae.

Lennon, a classy medium forward, is shaping as another blue-chip selection after the ready-mace successes of Brandon Ellis, Nick Vlastuin and Reece Conca.

Tough midfielder Clay Smith got through his second VFL clash unscathed following his swift return from a knee reconstruction, but Daniel Pearce left the clash with a suspected knee injury.

Smith’s injury effectively cost him just seven matches given he ruptured his ACL in Round 16 last year.

Spearhead Liam Jones took some strong grabs around the ground and was trialled in the ruck as Footscray kicked clear late to win by 62 points.

Former Crow Chris Knights collected 24 disposals for the Tigers.

Elton was very good in my opinion. Presents well as a CHF. He will play seniors this year no doubt.
McBean is improving
Arnot was our best mid

Would Elton be a better option than Snickery?
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

That's a disgraceful last qtr against that two bit mob, Clarke will be on notice I would have thought,  :shh

You are kidding, he's doing what he supposed to be doing. It's all about development, wins aren't the focus.

Suggest folks get used to that concept or they are going to get very stressed in 2014  ;D

Would think part of development is at least putting in some effort

Depends if the "Development" is the right one.

Lennon, Arnot, Elton, McBean, Knights were OK.

Lennon is a genuine forward. It would be better for his development to play half-forward in the VFL and AFL and not learn his defensive side playing half-back, but at half-forward instead as he does have class about him!
