RICHMOND players contested a three-kilometre trial on Saturday with speedy forward Nathan Gordon leading the Tigers around Princes Park.

Hard-nosed midfielder Brandon Ellis ran second from Reece Conca.

Mature-aged recruit Sam Lloyd and Tigers wunderkind Liam McBean registered competitive times.

That's interesting, I didn't think Gordon or Lloyd had that tank...good to see another preseason under their belt might help. Would like to see if their pace has increased and not just their stamina.

“We are really excited about what we have brought in. We have got great depth of players that can take us where we need to go. We are just putting some cream on the top at the moment,” he said.

I thought that a big tank was one of Gordon's strong points when he came to the club?

Yeah I thought that was pretty much his go to praise. "he ran all day" "he ran 16km in half a game" "we call him red dog" etc.

I'm not sure taz but, ignoring long the hair, there's a resemblance to former Carlton rookie Jaryd Cachia who has joined our VFL side.

The guy on the far right of the same pic is ex-Bendigo Gold footballer Jake Aarts, who has signed up with our VFL side.

From Dan Richardson's interview on the RFC website ....

All 1-4 year players have trained well and by enlarge you can tell they've done extra work over the break such as Conca and Lloyd. Lloyd has dropped a couple of kilos during the break. We see him and McDonough filling that small forward role. Both have come back in good shape.

I actually don't know this year :-\. Usually we get a chance to see the new draftees at training on the Monday morning following the draft but this year the whole squad including the newbies are heading up to Townsville on Saturday for our preseason camp.

I'm guessing there will be an open public training session sometime in December as in previous years. Something to ask RFC_Official about.

I picked Jake Aarts, not sure that's Cachia though , I had already googled him & thought no it isn't him !
