Ellis has agreed to terms on a new two-year contract according to Caro.

Seemed very nervous and jittery on the weekend. Rarely took risks by foot preferring to kick back or sideways rather than try and thread it through traffic. Still plays lie a 19 year old :shh

Another 25 possies for Ellis at 84% efficiency. Showing once again he was a bargain to be still around at pick 15 in his draft year.

Turning out to be a very good player and the best of our batch of up and comers. Runs all day
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Can he kick in tight situations? All I've seen are up and unders that admittedly hit the target. Not bagging the kid as he runs hard to get himself into situations that don't require tough kicks, but I worry he might not be able to if teams clamp down a little on him. Still has plenty of years to prove me wrong :thumbsup

Kids fine he is only in his second season and has played 30 odd games. Love his attitude.
I believe the blind kicking you talk about will eradicate itself as time goes by and as he matures and realises he has more time than he thinks. Have seen him shank some shots at goal that he has rushed when it was clear that he had more time than he actually gave himself.

It's not the blind kicks because he has no time it's the kicks where he has plenty of time but still lofts them

I take it we don't include Cotchin in this because at 23 he is so old.

AUDIO: Richmond has booked a spot in the finals for the first time in twelve years, and RSN Breakfast spoke to Brandon Ellis on Tuesday, one of the Tigers' best in Saturday's shock win over ladder-leaders Hawthorn.

Listen here: http://www.rsn.net.au/audioplayer/1375743114.mp3

* I’ve been pretty happy with my form.  I’ve stepped up into the midfield this year, whereas I played back last year. It comes down the coaches. They believe in me, and they’re really confident in what I can give to the team.

* I’m loving my footy at the moment.  I just can’t wait for the next four weeks, and hopefully we can play finals.

* I’ve had to work really hard.  I’m still learning the game plan to this day.  When the coaches tell you to stay on the outside and hold your width, it’s a lot easier to get the ball, especially when the inside mids are winning it.

* We know we’ve got a tough opponent in Brisbane this week.  They’ve been up and down, but they’ve shown they can beat the best sides. We believe if we stick to our game plan and listen to the coaches’ instructions on game day, we’re going to be pretty hard to beat.
