We should try to get Josh Kelly to Richmond.
No harm in trying but unless he truly wanted to leave I'd say no chance.
Giants will never get rid of kelly, they were happy to give up 2 x top 10 picks(dom tyson and Christian salem) to have the pick that would get him. Future superstar
Spot on,his frame has noticeably thickened out too which will only help him.
The possibility of physical and mental collapse is now very real. No sympathy for the Devil, keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride.

So we can destroy his career too? :whistle

Shopping list:

Prestia mid 175/82 (GCS)
Nicholls ruck 203/102 (GCS)
Day key/swing 197/102 (GCS)

Tomlinson key/swing 193/94 (GWS)
Steele mid 187/86 (GWS)

Currency:
2016 1st round pick
2017 1st + 2nd round pick
Vickery
Houli
B Ellis
? Conca (if he's worth anything at all)

I see all of these five as good targets, achieveable, affordable, would bring in developed but young talent and address all of our key needs bar a small defender (hoping Short/Castagna/Yarran come through).

Great post.

Omeara isn't desirable IYO?

Would Griffiths,McBean or even Lennon make our potential outs?

Be plenty to work with if those players get traded.

Ta.

No he's not at this stage (O'Meara). Possibly Chris Knights MKII, unfortunately for him. If he was playing consistent then yes.

Lennon I feel is still an unknown quality but yes, he's probably missing off my currency list, as is McBean and Astbury. I'd like to see all three play out the year and either show potential or build currency ahead of Vickery, Chaplin etc. Griffiths I also want to see play out the year and make my decision then - when he's on song he's the kind of player we need; leads well, takes a mark, kicks big goals, quick by foot etc. On the other hand I've seen enough of Vickery to last a lifetime.

McBean and Astbury are worthless to us IMO unless they can prove otherwise or attract trade currency being tall KPP's.

But ....

Omeara will be cheaper cause of his injury issues

You have to gamble sometimes

The upside is tremendous potentially

Plenty of money and draft picks (or traded for points!). At least $1.2-1.6+ million per year in salary space which would probably cover almost any combination of three of my wishlist players from the development clubs.

Fact is Vickery is a b!tch who thinks himself a goalsneak instead of a key forward. Houli is a jib and I think we're playing better without him. B Ellis is the same as Houli but not kind enough to get injured this year.

And Conca FMD I can't understand why so many people want to lick his feet. Talk about Kelvin Moore MKII as that injured player who just injures himself into our top half dozen. The guy has always sucked, been average at best, and is as injury prone as any player in recent memory. He might lay a good tackle and have a go but that's about it, and guys like him and A Moore and Townsend need to be cut loose. Being hard at it isn't enough anymore when you have guys like Miles and Vlastuin who can actually play and even Lambert looks better than them.

For me the fact that you aren't carrying on about how much better Conca is than Lambert speaks volumes of Lambert himself given where they have come from and what we expected of them. Statistically they're not that far apart IMO. I just think Lambert is a harder man, gets on the park and won't cost us much to retain etc.

Conca - pick 6 ND
23 going on 24 years old
185cm/83kg
74 games @ 17.89 disposals, 3.38 tackles, 3.73 marks
21 goals (0.28/game)

Lambert - rookie elevation
24 going on 25 years old
178cm/75kg
21 games @ 15.81 disposals, 2.90 tackles, 3.24 marks
13 goals (0.62/game)

Calm down goldilocks. I've never been over the hill with conca since before the draft, when it was announced he was a Richmond player pre draft ...

And always had a soft spot for lambert.

Lambert is a solider at best. Ideally would have a trelor in that spot

Not having a go. Conca is a player who people see in black and white nothing else. Not saying you're one way or another

Yeah you do but when we do it and it doesn't go to plan a number people on here go off like a bucket of prawns on a 40 degree summer's day because of their need to bash the club at every turn

Seen it in the last week  :whistle
