Dogs would probably command a premium for a trade on Stringer. I'm torn. I'd love to go to the draft but I'm also in the mind that some of our best players will be getting on by the time any 2017 draftees mature and our time is now.

and for what it is worth Tiger71 spoke about stringer leaving on the podcast a couple of hours before stevo and Barrett went with it.

..and you'll also note from the quote in my post that I knew about it a fortnight ago.... :shh

Let's put a holt on this tread until our season is over.....I laughed when story number 2 on the trade radio pod was the Hawks trying to offload Vickery.
It's awesome not giving a toss about trade week for a change.

Pretty sure most of us are capable of dealing with more than one issue at a time... and I would hope our football department are too... :shh

How could they possibly command a premium? I know he's a proven jet and AA, but he's been dropped several times this year. I honestly can't see them asking for more than a first rounder and a player.

No way.  This the best fun online each year.  Of the hundreds of rumours posted about 2 are true

I'd take Stringer in a heartbeat.

Obviously had some issues with the coach this year and had a poor season because if it imo.

I'd give one of our first rounder for him and maybe a fringe player as steak knives.

He would kick us 40 plus goals and could go into the midfield.

What sort of coin would he be demanding? $450/500k?

Jake Niall said he's on 500k and he's still contracted for next year so it would be that for the first year at least I imagine....Dogs could even pay it for the first year like we are with Deledio....

Mark Stevens on Ch 7 news just before said Stringer won't be at the Dogs next year. Geelong is one of the favourites to get him.

Overrated, a forward version of Bellis.
You'd all be squealing about how poo he was if he was a Tiger
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Stringer has been shocking this year. I'll cost us at least one of our first rounders plays a player.

Save our picks. Get him at free agency in 2 years time

Didn't catch it all because it was noisy at work, but sounded like Barrett was saying on MMM that Stringer copped it from the other players at their exit meeting. He's a well known figjam and probably needs a good kick up the arse.
