the knock on browne was his capacity to cover ground (atleast at reasonable pace).

Well done again MT and thank you. I noticed you said it looks like the back six are settled, did you mean: Moore, Thursty, Sanchez, Newman, McGuane & Rance?? If so I hope so it looks pretty good down there now.
Put Raines instead of Rance.

B: Rainesy     Moore     Thursty
HB: Newy   McGuane    Jordie

That's the starting six.

Just hope Raines can be less predictable this year, stop freezing in the headlights and being run down. This is what turned him from coming 2nd in the Rising Star competition to a liability.... For mine Rance is a far better prospect. Sorry to be a downer... :(

After watching tonight's game you are so right Stripes.  Raines was serviceable without standing out but much of the same old.  Rance showed that with another year under his belt he will be very good and he has the build to be more versatile than Raines.

Ch 7 showed a quick shot of Cousins training and said he's pulled up well after the Brisbane game and is ready to play a full game against the Blues in round 1  :thumbsup.

No mention of Foley.

They were wearing those last Wednesday at training too. If it means they are hitting targets they can wear them all the time if they want  ;D.

I went to training today but didn't see Axel at all

Of note.

Kane Johnston sat and watch training, I didnt see him doing any training!

Connors and Thompson ran laps

Vickery had to rest at the end but was training well enough

Cotchin has has ankle foot iced up

Hislop left the track early

Petts moved reasonably well by had a slight limp

Cogs was the best result of the day for me as he looked sharp and participated in the full training sesion from what I could see.

Tambling was sharp by foot

Patto looked good

In summary, the boys looked sharp with their skills and were all look marathon fit.

Cheers for the report Camboon  :thumbsup :cheers.

I went along to training today too. All the media were there when I arrived so there should be footage of training the newses tonight. They all had left after half an hour.

It was good to see Cogs back into full training. I think Coburg have an intraclub this weekend so hopefully we can get permission for Cogs to play so he has a quicker chance of getting back into the senor side eventually.

Cleve also did most of training except for a short while where he went down to the Yarra Falls end goals with a couple of trainers/coaches and did some pick-up and snaps at goal. It looked like they were testing out his second efforts and ground skills which a lack of is a criticism of Cleve.

I didn't see Polly as well as Axel. Foley they are resting up all week as mentioned in the other thread.

Connors was running 400m reps around the boundary with a bandage covering over the break in his finger. I don't know why Thommo was only doing laps.

Vickery didn't do a lot of the training with his busted lip.

Gourdis trained mostly so he must fine after the concussion he copped against Willy. He also did some running alongside Richo towards the end of training.

As for actual training it was pretty much similar to last week - drills of in-close handball and kick to kick footpassing on the run followed by more game-based drills as we fine tune and build up towards round 1. Another good session and one that makes me quietly optimistic especially with hearing Foley is okay.

How does Gourdis' body shape compare with Richo's?

Gourdis is a solid boy but Richo is bigger (taller too). Only Simmo and Bam Bam (Andrew Browne) would be the same if not bigger than Richo but of course without Richo's super athleticism.
