Hardly anyone missing training by the look of it which is great news [touchwood :pray]. Only Chris Knights absent?

That's awesome news. He'll be right for round 1 if he's in the best 22 at that stage

From Tone Greenberg ‏@TigerlandTone twitter:

"RFC training. Lots & lots of running around the white line. 55-60 secs per lap is quick. 75 for Ladey. Hampson = huge unit."

"as ever, Ben [Griffiths] looks great. I would love to see him tried on a wing. Forward in drills. Not much 1 on 1 stuff with him, so hard to say [whether mongrel factor has improved]. He was tackling etc fine, but I'm looking forward to seeing him on the lead"

"It's 8 January, and it's a training session, but of the draftees Nick Nathan Gordon is a real standout. Top runner and real urgency. He's a seasoned player, but he's really really fit"

Dusty - "Excellent. He's gliding, but owns the ball when it's in his hands. Looks terrific."

"knights yes there today, and running well. Conca no. It's a full on session."

O'Hanlon - "holding the crash bag very well. Silly handballing drills at present doesn't give his left leg a chance to shine. He's really solid. He is owning the space 40-75m out in simulation. Playing through him a lot. No puppy fat now either. Best when roosting. Gun"

Arnot - "Doing laps. As muscly as ever, but not part of main group yet. Have to manage that back"

Lennon - "he's no rake. But no noticeable size change.  I personally cannot see Lennon playing R1. No expert, but Vlas waited a while and he's got a long career ahead"

McDonough - " I think he'll always be a solid shape. Running with Ellis though, kicking too. Lovely leg on him. His disposal is silk. Not a small fwd, he's a midfielder and I think he'll really push"

Astbury - "Number 12 is travelling nicely, looks slimmer and has a lot of sunscreen on"

Riewoldt - "It's often forgotten, but: Nick Riewoldt: 193cm Jack: 195cm Don't tell him, but Jack looks great. #CHF. I think that's a focus [a bigger tank]. He is slimmer."

McBean - "laps. Needs to eat more bacon."

Foley - "Glad you asked. Moving really really well and doing everything. A standout. Wallace said best trainer he's seen"

"Ben Darrou will never win a Stawell Gift, but closing speed is excellent and a fine fist on him. Big year needed, but high ceiling"

"Session 3 hours old now. No fluids on the field, either. Planning for fewer trainers? Dimma's made some poor umpiring calls."

Q. Any positional changes appearing likely for players? where will new draftees play etc?
A. Hard to say given everyone's all over the place, though Elton is FF in drills. Newy wing/ fwd. Ellis midfield. Vlas back

"And we're done. Good session, with Ellis, Vlas, Rance (in most days over the break, with Astbury), BOH & Gordon the standouts."

Q. nice, he [Gordon] could play the role left vacent by whitey possibly?
A. There are plenty if candidates. Chris Knights, for one. Expect big competition for spots 16-22."

"Only 8 January, but the number of RFC (senior & rookie) players not expected to be available for Round 1 = 0." ............ [ touchwood ]

Q. Alright Tone, time for a speculative question - who is 2014's biggest improver?
A. Hmm. Tough to tell from just training, but Kamdyn McIntosh physically, and O'Hanlon as a player."

He also mentioned that McIntoshes change in body is startling. Grown 4cm since draft. Wing beckons
And you may not think I care for you
