Rance (FB), Dusty (C), Jack (FF)  and Shedders on the bench for those who don't have foxtel and are interested!

Well done Shane Edwards on his first AA. Thoroughly deserved. And who said Terry Wallace couldn't draft a beer in a brewery?

Been a massive supporter of Shane for many years. Many couldn't see what he brings and some still don't...well done superstar  :cheers

Exhibit A on why I don't give much credence to this AA business

Obviously some very good players miss out were deserving of a spot including our boys grimesy and cads but I think overall they did a pretty damn good job.

Buddy named at all.

Jack should have been CHF, and any number of players could have got the nod ahead of Buddy at full forward.

Jack being the overall key forward standout but with the next 3 goal kickers being so close, I don’t think you can make the argument based on one player kicking 1 more goal across the season than the other. He offers a whole lot more than Ben brown that’s for sure. I would have personally gone with Hawkins but not sure what the other options you are referring to are for his position.

Buddy as captain?  The guy is a great mark and kick for goal, being as he is a big dumb animal and all, but stuff me side saddle, he is not a captains hole.

Captaining a side with Edwards in it, who Buddy nearly killed a couple of years ago running past the ball and taking him out. There is also Rance, who Buddy throat chops every chance he can get. That's just Richmond players.

Great leader.

I don’t watch nearly as much footy as I used to but that side is the worst I can remember.
Buddy shouldn’t even be in that side let alone captain. Absolute BS.

Congrats to our boys, all well deserved. And a few unlucky.

As a HFF, would you prefer to line up in Whitfield or Grimes to try and get a kick?

 :lol

As much as the masses of Internet people are saying Buddy shouldn’t be all Australian let alone captain there would be twice as many nuffers saying the same thing about Rance (because he’s useless one on one / doesn’t play on the big forwards etc)  :lol :rollin

I think to normally get in the all Australian team a player normally has a few good years under his cap as we’ve seen by the inclusion of Edwards ahead of say Devon Smith or Jack McRae. Especially in the last 2 years we’ve seen first hand how valuable and damaging Edwards can be and this year he’s been awarded for it.

It looks as though the captaincy is now recognition of an exceptional career and no one can deny Buddys career hasn’t been exceptional (as much as it pains us to admit it). To suggest he’s not worthy of All Australian accolades reminds me of those people that fail to except Rance is the greatest  backman since Matty Scarlett.
The club that keeps giving.

In all reality what does it mean?
There is no one this side can play against.

The captain shoould be a club captain unless there isn't one selected in the starting 18...last year there was no  club captain selected in the starting 18, only Selwood on the bench... :shh
