Let's assume there will be a 2020 "season". Richmond's one and only on-field success is having zero injuries. (They are a crap side who plays crap football, in an era of AFL mediocrity, which has devalued the AFL premiership.)

The question is how this weird "season" would affect injuries. You could say, "They'll all be injury-free but unfit when it starts, so the one Richmond advantage is wiped out." But you could also say, "There will be 'games' played every 4 days in a crazy circus with no time for recovery from injury and with fitness being key also, so Richmond have the advantage."

You decide which of those arguments you think is more convincing...

If the AFL season was continuing, today would have been the first time Richmond would have played outside Melbourne since July 6 2019, some 9 months ago #plumdraw

Quote from: Troy
To be fair I don't follow Richmond so forgot they had Brisbane in week one of finals... Doesn't hide the plum draw though, a draw that won them the premiership last year

Quote from: Troy
It helps when you play all those sides at the MCG though. For example, playing west coast in Perth puts them favourites and if they win that you likely finish 5th and it's much harder. 10 straight weeks at home with no travel had them primed and fresh compared to others

Quote from: Troy
I don't know how I can make this simpler for you to understand.
When you had a fair draw: you were 8th
When you got every game at your home ground: you went up to 3rd
That's the point, it couldn't get any easier

Quote from: Troy
You did not finish the season with 10 games at home in a row in 2016. False comment..

Quote from: Troy
Apologies - last 7 at MCG, which lifted the side from 6th to 3rd. Do you not think having so many games at your home ground in a row was a huge contribution to your premiership win?

Quote from: Troy
Best team at the MCG by a long way yes. It's not Richmond's fault they are based at the G but they play so well there any having so many games there is a huge advantage

Quote from: Troy
Well yes but you guys play so well there and not so well anywhere else. Like WCE played better at Subiaco than Fremantle despite it being both their homes. Obviously it helps playing so many games at a ground you play the best at

Richmond play 17 games at the MCG every year!!!

Quote from: Michael Lewis
Hahahahaha, so Richmond get 17 games at the MCG plus finals every year, but god forbid any Adelaide team playing at home for an extended time.

thats the teams problem....bottom line is you should only play 11 games on a home ground otherwise the league loses its integrity

The Adelaide Crows and Port Adelaide have been “instructed” they will have to play games interstate when the AFL season resumes as Adelaide Oval is “too big an advantage”, reports FIVEaa’s Stephen Rowe.

Rowey told FIVEaa Breakfast’s David & Will on Monday:

“How’s the VFL -- I’m not going to call them the AFL in this story. Adelaide is a monte to be an AFL hub. We know an announcement of return to play date due by the end of this week.

“Crows and Port have been instructed they’ll have to play interstate as Adelaide Oval will be too big an advantage, they said. Um hello? Richmond and Collingwood at the MCG.

“Give me a spell. Come on, fair dinkum.”

PENBO: “Richmond played 10 games in a row at the MCG in the lead up to last year’s Grand Final. That’s an outrage.”

Kane Cornes on Footy Classified tonight pulling out his broken record and having another sook about us and the MCG  ::).

'It's not fair that Richmond (and Collingwood) play 14 games at the MCG every year.'

'The fixture lacks integrity when Richmond plays the last 7 games at the MCG running into finals.'

Caro tried to reply that there's 10 team in Victoria and that Richmond travelled as much interstate as any other Victorian side. When Caro asked Cornes where Richmond should play Victorian sides he replied "Marvel"  :stupid.

Caro also said Adelaide & Port have a bigger home grund advantage than Richmond which Hutchy laughed at saying Richmond are virtually unbeatable at the 'G. Caro replied that's only now because they are such a strong side and no one was complaining about this when Richmond couldn't hit a pie for 30 years. Hutchy could only say that Caro despite the lockdown brought her Tiger scarf with her which the others (Lloyd & Cornes) laughed at.

Lloyd also sooked about the quality of today's footy and finding quality players which Caro countered by mentioned us and Marlion Pickett. Lloyd replied 'but you're only talking about Richmond again'.

Oh boo hoo Lloydy  :nopity. Essendon being crap for the past 20 years doesn't make today's footy worse than the 90s  :sleep.

 I have to agree

Not just the one tonight with Dusty but all of them

These nightly footy stories of interviewing players while they are in lockdown are not news

Blame the scumbag in the porsche doing 200kph on the Eastern. Gets rightly pulled over and then does a runner when the 4 cops are hit and killed by the semi-trailer. A low-life of the highest order  >:(.

I can’t say if often enough but they [Richmond] cheat with their off the ball stuff and having been receiving a lot of love for it. Umpires especially.
Very hawthorn, give away a rough free when you're not going to win the ball anyway. If they miss it you're a chance.
