Rebuild for 2020?
« on: May 02, 2015, 05:15:08 PM »
We are behind the Dogs and Sun's. By the end of the year probably the Giants.

Anything else is wasting time. Cash in on big currency of Deledio, Cotchin and Riewoldt over the next 3 years. Finish bottom 4 for the next 3 years and have 6 picks in top 10 maybe more. Add that to Ellis, Martin and Vlastuin with a decent coach and who knows.. Anything else is just mid table mediocrity if we are lucky and allowed to 'play our way'...
Go Tigers!

Would love to get Bomber Thompson and allow him to surround himself with his people.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Behind the Suns, last time I checked they hadn't won a game and I'd argue they've gone backwards more than us in 2015

If you had said Bulldogs & Giants I'd said probably but the Suns = nope

This type of conversation makes me wonder if the people hiring the people who train, recruit, coach the players are the wrong people.  I know its a meta argument, but we've been saying someone else coach, get rid of FJ, etc for ages.  But maybe the real issue is the talent spotting of the higher ups.

Who hires the coaching staff?  Who hires the recruiters? Who hires the medical staff?  And yet this regime has done well on marketing and memberships.  Replacing the recruiters, coaches etc won't do any good if the higher ups can't recognize talent and provide structure and support, which they have clearly tried to do with their off field spend improvements.  Bomber Thompson will not help us one iota if the recruiters are average or the medical is dismal or the trainers are bad.

Richmond Football Club, disappointing their fans since 1983.

Why have a rebuild?

Just reuse our posts from 2009 onwards and in 2021 we'll be where we are now.

It's Groundhog day again.

Add Ablett to the side and they are well ahead of us.

Don't think anyone is brave enough to suggest the Sun's won't be ahead of us very soon if they are not already.
