Hardwick's post-match media conference

Dimma just had his presser:

* Rance prognosis - suspected ACL. We take the 4 points but we lost a warrior. Our players with their mental training are able to deal with such circumstances. While sad for Rance they will respond to this well.

* West Coast lost NicNat and others midyear last year. It gives someone else a chance. They won't be Alex Rance standard but they have a chance to stand up. We'll look at Garthwaite who we rate and consider switching things around such as moving Balta back.

* We were clunky and our composure across forward line wasn't where it usually is. We left a number of goals on the park.

* Lynch kicked 3 but got his hands to a lot. Hasn't played for 8 months so we expected him to be rusty. Happy for him to get through the game. He'll take those marks in a couple of weeks time. 3-4 weeks ago he didn't look like playing but credit to our medical staff and Tom's hard work.

* Nank kicked 3 as did Tom. We didn't get the scoreboard reward from the smalls tonight.

* It was hot, humid, slippery but it wasn't the prettiest spectacle.

* The new rules didn't appear to stand out.

* No runners? The players usually get set-ups right 80% of time. They can still get it wrong even with the runner out there. There was a patch of 10-15 mins in the 3rd qtr where we didn't kick a goal.

* Dusty tries to create the play. That's his strength. He'll get it wrong sometimes but more times than not he gets it right.

* We were clunky. It takes time for new players to fit into a team. Back in 2017, Nank as a ruckman fitted in straight away but Caddy and Prestia took 6-8 weeks.
