King unfortunately has become a liability.
His errors cancel out his pros - of late.
After an inspiring start to 08,he needs to re calibrate.

I have watched King up close and him simply will not re calibrate. He was playing suburbian football for a reason only 2-3 years ago. Its great that he is a nutter, but he lacks football smarts.

MT, do you really think Petts has played his last game?

I agree that I think Tivvers card is now marked.  But I don't know about Petts.  Only 26.  They may play him at the end of the year to give him some currency for trade week.
For Richmond yes I do. Two years ago there was still time on his side to save his career but at 26 and as a midsized senior player what you see if what you'll get. There's no further improvement in him after 8 years in the system and in fact he's gone backwards this year as the game has changed to one that requires high levels of defensive pressure from forwards which he struggles at or he simply refuses to do. Last week he came off the bench in the 3rd quarter and stayed 30m forward side of a ball up on the wing waiting to receive the easy pill even though we were getting pumped at the stoppages and needed numbers at the fall of the ball. Of course his opponent was at the contest and the Crows cleared it and goaled. You can't hold onto players for 8 years with no team skills.

yes MT and if i recall you were one of the people last year to say Petts was a better footballer than Leon Davis..

Petts is a pathetic selfish footballer who should have been offloaded 2 years ago.

we will make the same mistake with schulz, Quentin and probably JON, although i still think he has one chance left.

he should have been showed the door years ago that dud schulz

ooh schulz what a great year he is having...could be dropped this week, was dropped 2 weeks ago..

yep he is on the up aint he..give me a break..

I'm very pleased with the Ins and Outs this game.

King and Thursty are out through injury which is a shame but Petts and Tiv are definite outs on form/team dynamics which is an extremely welcomed decision. I realize it is unlikely to transpire this week but by having Bowden named on the bench, the match committee is signalling Joel's demise also.

I think we are and will be a much better team when these three have been premanently moved on.

My other 'targets' are-
Hyde - good average player but offers nothing that any of our rising youth don't already
Tucky - slow, lacking in skills but still has strength we need around stoppages,
McMahon - outside player who only looks good when he is feed and pressure free
Polak - one dimensional player with questionable desposal and defensive skills & pace.

Conversely including players such as Rance, Morton, Riewoldt and Polo to the extended bench is a great sign for the selectors. Now if they could just include all of these 'future' players in our team I would be very happy.

Good signs for the rest of the year and the future in general IMO!  :clapping

Hyde should not be playing, i suppose he is only in to play a run with role. Thing that i find strange is that Polo has also been doing this at Coburg and playing very good footy. Surely the better long term option is to play Polo, his form also warrants it.

JON is someone who i havent been a big fan of, in saying that he form has been very solid over the the last few games at Coburg and a few small things over the last month have given me a little more respect for him. Last weeks game was by far the best i have seen from him.

Morton is a much better option than Pettiger  :thumbsup

Jack  :thumbsup

Jackson i am still not sure on either. Great kid with determination and grunt, just not sure he is up to AFL though.

Training form seems to have decided the last spots.

Sadly it looks like Deano cost himself a spot at training. Make a few too many skill errors and was told by Plough he needed to lift his skills. In one case he took a mark just outside 50 then played on when he shouldn't have isolating himself and then dished a poor handball under pressure. Conversely Hyde trained very well, getting a heap of footy running the lines and hitting targets inside 50 (if only he'd show this during an actual game). That's the only explanation I can give for the Hyde-Tivs turnstile continuing this week and Polo missing out  :P.

Jack cut up Rance on the lead.
