I think he means what if Rance is holding out because he wants 5 years and we're only offering 2 or 3 years...whereas Martin was happy to commit to only 2 years.

For me the club is bigger than the player.

It's a little more than simply wanting the best for himself (which is ok to a point), it's dragging the club through negative PR and uncertainty at the 23rd hour. It also potentially jeopardizes how we will be able to recruit a really good gun and what we will (dangerfield etc).

Actually the more i think about it, if he doesn't want to sign then gtfo

Did everything that was asked of him and more-  was rarely ever beaten for two years in a crap side, yet was still considered "too short" ....so really the questions have to be asked - why draft him in the first place then...why not just go out and draft a 195+ KPD to start with instead of putting unrealistic expectaions on a 190cm kid who it now seems was always going to be considered too short no matter how well he did? Why waste his and the club's time for 3 years? Anyway, as someone who actually saw most of his VFL career, I disagree he couldn't have held his own  in the AFL...jeez, at the very worst he would've been a better version of Kelvin Moore IMO.

Darrou hard done by IMO. Not Rance's calibre though. Truth is unless he signs we won't have a proper KPD anymore. Astbury is fragile. Chaplin sucks 1 out, best as 3rd man up. Grimes missing an inch of height, a stone of KG's, also fragile. Elton - shown nothing so far.

We lose Rance we're in trouble. Saw what happened last year...

Grimes is tall enough I reckon. What's the diff between him and ranch? 1 cm from memory

Elton has had one or two really interesting games where he's gone well and pinch hit (well) in the ruck, but most of his games agreed are rubbish
