I hope I am wrong but appear way too short in the backline. Very inexperienced backline. Connors on Franklin- No way.

No disrespect to Astbury and Grimes, but at this stage of their development they would struggle to hold Roughead and Hale alone. If Channel 10 are just scare-mongering, and Franklin is fit to play too, then we're screwed.
With Willy T not even named as an emergency as a contingency should Buddy come up, I just can't understand what the club is thinking.

We were always going to be small down back, unless Thursfield came in as well. Connors on Franklin......not such a bad idea actually, he has the aerobic capabilities to go with him, great leap, good strength, not a bad call actually...if it happens.

that's just the way the lineup looks somehow when it comes out.  last week they listed connors at CHB on the teamsheet as well.  and surprise surprise, he didnt' play CHB.

i think you have been stuck in those mines for too long.

Connors is slow and thats being generous. Buddy will murder him.

Absolutely no way should and will line up on him.

I will like to see us try and win this not attempt things like this or Conca on Burgoyne.

Backline worries me massively. We need to dominate the midfield or we're gonna be in for a fingering.
Thursty HAS to be a subsitute, so at least we can sub him on if Asty or Grimesy are getting monstered.

I remember a game in 2003 I think when we were getting smashed by the hawks by 50 odd points until our midfield, led by Cogs, got ontop at half time & smashed them them to record our greatest comeback ever.  :gotigers :clapping :clapping :clapping

love to see that again

Yep we'll be very inexperienced down back and may get exposed badly if the Hawks get more than their fair share of the footy in the midfield, but it's probably the most individually skillful backline player by player we've had in a long long time.

The other area of concern is the ruck. Basically it's Gus against both Renouf and Hale.

Tactically it looks like we'll try the same thing as last week. Try to match or better the Hawks in contested footy so we get the ball forward as much as they do, then stay with them until half-time and with runners on the bench try to run them off their feet in the second half.

13 goals in a row wasn't it?  :thumbsup

All thanks to Stafford elbowing Everitt in the ruck contest  ;D.

Willy T = GWS?

Would take a 3rd rounder compo a la Josh Fraser.
The problem with that though is no one not even the Suns wanted Will last draft so he's trade value is practically zero  :-\.
