Podcast with former Tiger, Justin Charles
« on: September 03, 2019, 12:09:14 PM »
Last night I was lucky enough to chat with former Tiger, Justin Charles!

It was a bit of a hybrid episode, as we spoke about his time as a tiger, plus previewed the final vs Brisbane this week!

On this weeks episode:

-How Justin ended up at Richmond back in the 1994 draft
-The pressures of walking into an AFL Club from another team
-The 1995 Semi final vs Essendon
-His Career best season in 1996 where he polled 17 Brownlow votes coming 3rd (he tells a great story!)
-His thoughts on Chris Scott / Geelong home final saga
-VFL final update vs Essendon
-Spoke about Cotchin, Riewoldt, Lynch, Nankervis, Soldo, Balta, Chol
-Preview of Qualifying Final vs Brisbane
-Charlie Cameron sooking
-How much the Tiger army means to the players, both past and current.

plus more!

Huge thanks to Justin for coming on, he was fantastic. Really open and honest, and loves a laugh!

***Note: Episode contains swearing, if you are easily offended, don't listen***

Was the obvious discussed?

nah it wasn't.

I spoke with Justin for 40 minutes during the day about a whole range of things and I did ask if it's a topic we can speak about.

he said it was fine but he also made some really good points.

it has been 22 years since it happened and he has been on record and interviewed many times on this topic, so if people wanted to really know how he felt and what happened they would have easily been able to find it by now.

so i decided to not raise it in the podcast and stuck to asking him about things that we haven't heard answers or stories about in the past, much more entertaining that way :-)
