I will feel a lot better about the draw if we can win rd 1

Hopefully we can be 2-2 after rd 4 and get some confidence back at the club.....lets just hope we can get our best 22 on the park.(Go Trent).

Nothing worse than the season being over after the first month.(09=hell on earth)

BTW....Blues have got a tough start.... could be 0-9 if they lose to us. :lol

It is a real reflection of where we are at when you look at that draw and see no easy games. :help

Terrible draw with all those games on Pay TV - aint good for sponsors

Terrible draw with all those Sunday games especaill the early start ones

5 Interstate trips again

Having said that - not at all unexpected, we've literally got what we deserved after our pathetic 2009

If Carlton struggle to kick a score without Fev it's going to be fun watching their games 19 times on FTA  :sleep.

The AFL have looked after Collingwood again. They don't travel until round 8 and their last 7 games are all at the 'G  ::).

Essendon only travel interstate 3 times. So much for a tough draw  ???.

Yep we got left with the scraps for such a crap 2009  :banghead

When was the last time they played at Geelong..... think it was 1999.

My local publican will be happy with the draw. Only 9 games on free means me at the pub 13 times. Might have to put the pay TV on, might be cheaper.

15 winnable games. I expect us to win between 9 and 12 games. 12 games takes us the edge of the 8 again... hopefully not 9th.

I can't see 15 winnable games myself Ramps and finishing with 9-12 wins just missing the finals would be a shocker with the severely compromised drafts. That would leave us with a first pick in the mid-late teens  :-\.

Being optimistic I can get 9 wins and most of them are 50/50.

1.  Carl - W ..... only b/c there's no Judd, Fev
2.  Dogs - L
3.  Syd - L
4.  Melb - W
5.  Freo - W
6.  Geel - L
7.  Adel - L
8.  Haw - L
9.  Ess - W
10. Port - L
11. St K - L
12. WCE - W
13. Bris -  L
14. Syd -  L
15. Freo - W
16. Nth -  W
17. Coll -  L  :P
18. Adel - L
19. Melb - W
20. Carl -  L
21. St K - L
22. Port - W

Really if we had just 5 wins by round 14 I'd expect us to play the kids/list and tank the rest of the season.

I just hope people don't expect more than where we are at. We will be wooden spoon favourites. I can see impatient supporters bagging Hardwick in his first two years even if he does everything right for the long-term. It's not going to be pleasant initially  :-\.

R1, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 22
are all a chance, admittedly some more than others. In reality 9 will be closer to the end result. Although if we have a shocker and finish last, I wouldnt mind getting pick 4 or 5 as our first pick anyway.

I think winning 5-6 games next year would be a fair result. More important is to get a combativeness about the team and nurture that characteristic in the lads rather than a whatever will be attitude that we have seen over the last few decades.

In reality if we got 9-12 wins that would be great and a pleasant surprise but with the "Big Cull" needing to go to a second year to get rid of the cloggers that remain and turn over half the list a bottom 3 finish which in reality is what we expect will probably occur and that would mean another investment in the draft.

I was also thinking of the scenario of 9-12 wins and other clubs possibly overestimating some of our regulars especially with the winds of change Dimma is bringing and getting some extra draft picks in the 2nd and third rounds to help push the rebuild. :shh

Round 22 will be another Sunday home game (Herald-Sun)

Round 22 will be another Sunday game for us....

AFL draws the line
Jon Ralph From: Herald Sun October 31, 2009

THE AFL has identified North Melbourne, Richmond, Melbourne, and Port Adelaide as its projected strugglers under a Round 22 floating fixture that is the highlight of the 2010 draw.

AFL chief operating officer Gillon McLachlan yesterday released next year's fixture with those four clubs all nominally slated to play on the Sunday of Round 22.

Given they are unlikely to play finals, that would allow the AFL maximum flexibility to give top-eight teams seven-day breaks ahead of the finals.

The AFL says there is no set fixture for that round, but clubs have been told of the projected slots and the Tigers-Power and Demons-Kangaroos clashes are likely to be the only two Sunday games.

In Inside Football it says the Saints had requested more MCG games and had pencilled in our home game at the 'G as one of them until the AFL changed it. So while both clubs wanted that Friday night game at the 'G it sounds like Caro was right about the Demetriou cracking the sooks over it being in the paper ::).
