Our loss had nothing to do with coaching it was all to do with our players heads!
There very little you can do from a coaching perspective if the players heads aren’t in it.
Collingwood played out of there skins, they just wanted it more and we played like we already had it in the bag.
Let this be a massive lesson, I agre we still have the nucleus of a great side but we can’t afford to be complacent about it. Dead wood needs to be cut and the list needs to be freshend up.
Bring on 2019!

So Dave and Martin were fit to play ? . You don't start your best shut down defender on there most dangerous forward ?. You don't tag there most dangerous player who sets them up and continue to let him roam free ? .You don't go man on man when you can't touch the footy.Sorry there coaching issues.

There were clearly coaching issues and selection issues.

Astbury was clearly as sick as a dog. Couldnt get to position.

Conca is a poo truck. Theres no 2 ways about it

Houli has been back to his old ways since returning.

You know what it is the break down of that I blame this on?  Society!
Castagna seems to be a much better player when Butler is in.  And you know what, I reckon Townsend makes blokes cringe when he is around them coz they know he is going to hit em hard.  The blokes we are missing are both good pressure players and Towner is a strong bastard.

I think we got back to playing favourites this year, more vfl guys should have been given a run though the year, eg Balta, stengle, bolton, markov, garthwaite, moore, townsend, miles, soldo, even coleman jones. This sends a message to all players you will be rewarded for performing at vfl level and all senior players are under the microscope every week.

We turned into flat track bullies during the year and when the heat was on at the selection table and on the day we were found wanting and were paraltsed into playing Dusty, Conca and Astbury, 2 were unfit and 1 was not up to it.

Dimma needs to go for a Harvard refresher course and we need conca, houli, grigg, b ellis, c ellis to be traded out.

Something didn't click at the end of the year, minor premiers afl and vfl and no silverware.

The stink is back in the hen house.

We lost it at the selection table and in our ethos during the year.
Agree, i hate to lose the way we did, but was it on the day or did we set ourselves up for this loss during the year?
