As McGuane isnt even named for Coburg I sense he might actually named with an injury as an out tonight.  :-\

No matter, put Clever in for him.  Stick him at FF and put Sarge down back.  :thumbsup

McGuane missing would be a shame especially considering his developing form.

Cleve is an enigma to me. He seems to have the talent but just doesn't seem to ever get the ball in his hands. He still seems like a nervy kid out there and doesn't know where to position himself. I'm not sure if it is a confidence thing but regardless he needs to show us (and the coaches) more committment and have a breakout week soon!

Jackson maybe an interesting prospect to try in the backline. He has the speed and size but is lacking with the height.

On the smaller ground of Telstra, it will be a completely different tussle than last week. Congested footy will be the norm and height will be much more important and will crumbers at both ends of the ground.

Would it have made more sense to list Richo in the forward line but change him to the wing come game day?  Keep the opposition guessing.  Why alert them in advance of what you are going to do?  Make it so unpredictable that the opposition are left scratching their heads.

Naa that horse has bolted now, they know he will play either but they done but still dont know where exactly.

Rocket will have a plan for both situations now. Doesn't matter where they list Richo.
Yeah, I don't think any opposition coach takes one bit of notice of where players are named in the teams made public.  They know where players are likely to play and will have a number of plans to cope with the possibilities as they see them.  They may not foresee the occasional one (like Freo with Richo last week) but it wouldn't have mattered where he was named - they have their own intelligence sources and gut feel and would generally run with that.

Players dont play in positions, they go on match ups.

Nonsense, a lot of players play in a position regardless of the match ups.

Simmo in the ruck, most of the forwards etc.

I expect better from you jackie.

What I meant to say that you will find that each players knows who they are playing on and if they push over to another zone, there opponnent will go with them, eg If Simmo pushes in into F 50, his opponnent would go with him unless a message comes from the coaches box

Nobody deserved to be dropped after last week. Pressure's on to stay in the team. Best way to do that? Play well and win.

with todays  bench player rotation system  playing on your man  is more whos in your zone rather than a stated position
the days of 18 set positions has gone
todays player plays the zone first
