"It was pretty painful when it first happened," Grimes told reporters.

"I've never really done an ankle so this is all a bit new to me. I wasn't really sure how serious it was initially.

"I think at this early stage, we've just got to take every precaution and try and get it right early in the week.

"Hopefully I'll train and, fingers crossed, get up to play."

Burge's update on Grimes:

Dylan Grimes, ankle

"'Grimesy' fell and stood on another player’s boot and rolled his ankle. He came back on the ground and finished the game. It was a bit bruised after the game and the next day, plenty of ice and compression for the first 48 hours, and today he’s walking around pretty good. At this stage, he’s a probable for this week and we'd anticipate him doing a little bit of training potentially later in the week. I’d say he’s a really good chance to play on Sunday."

Brilliant job on keeping Cameron quiet today. The glove!

No sign of any lasting effects from that ankle either  :pray.

Looked good to me. Cameron did SFA when the game was there to be won. Couple of junk goals. Anyone who didn't watch would think he'd played OK but he got a bath ..

ANGRY CHARLIE

This is why Grimes is a lock for the All-Australian team.

The shutdown defender kept Charlie Cameron to only one possession in the first half.

After tearing the Cats apart last week, Cameron produced the quietest half of footy he has played all year, and was clearly unhappy with some of Grimes’ defensive tactics.

Cameron showed his frustration when he approached the emergency umpire and AFL staff on the bench early in the third term about the way Grimes was manhandling him.

Lions’ staff had to escort him away from the officials in an incident which the AFL will review.

The Lions will also take their case to the umpiring department.

Grimes had the speed to match Cameron and was typically courageous in the air, spoiling almost everything in his area.

Fagan had a long chat with Cameron on the bench in the second term in a bid to spark the livewire.

Watch us get reamed by the umps up at the Gabba everytime Grimes touches him. We want to bring the blocking on Lynch and the holding on Dusty to their attention also, watching the replay some of the non calls were disgusting.

Tipping the "noise of affirmation" will be of great assistance to them like it is to every home side except us... :shh

I think we can confidently mark that down as the worst take in OER history.

And that’s saying a lot...
