no the jack dyer stand is not being fixed. Too many possums reside there and they don't want to displace them.

Yes the ground could easily hold 10k, but with all possums there is no room left.
Benny Gale has apparently asked Plough to come and clear out all the possum poo.  It was one of the few jobs that he did really well in his time at the club! ;D
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

It's been a pretty good pre-season for the Tigers. Everyone has done well when they have had an opportunity. It's going to be tough to pick a side for round one with a lot of boys having put their hands up..
I hope Hardwaick and co pick a side on form rather than the name and reputation.
I cannot wait for round one and the season ahead, I predict us to be top four and a real contender unlike the flogs in the media. Our depth has improved and with Cotch, Martin, Lids and Jack and being genuine superstars we have to be a massive show.

Agree with most of this, though I don't think we will be top 4, reckon 5th-6th myself but the rest fair call

Foley solid as VFL Tigers fall short
John Lindon
March 8, 2014 12:41 PM

Richmond fielded 12 players from its senior list including Aaron Edwards, Dylan Grimes, Jake King and Nathan Foley, and was met by a similarly structured Collingwood side.

Foley was a prolific ball-winner early for the Tigers, constantly beating opponents to the ball. He worked tirelessly in packs, chased well and kicked a goal. He finished with seven clearances and 26 possessions, 16 of which were contested.

Experienced forward Aaron Edwards snared three strong contested marks and kicked a goal in a tight first quarter.

Brett O’Hanlon was also busy and kicked two goals – the first of which came from a long set shot after the quarter-time siren.

Sam Lloyd was among Richmond’s best, causing problems for Collingwood with his pressure and attack on the ball up forward.

Dylan Grimes was a composed figure in the heart of the Richmond defense and set a high standard with consistent efficient disposal. He laid a team-high six tackles and was dutifully assisted by Ben Darrou, who held his own in marking contests and also provided valuable run and carry.

Both Brad Helbig (13 possessions) and Jake King (11) provided options and won the ball across half-back and half-forward respectively.

Hard-working midfielder, Anthony Miles capped off his impressive pre-season campaign with a late goal.

RICHMOND:                       3.1   5.1   7.3   8.4  (52)
COLLINGWOOD:               3.4   6.7   8.9   11.13  (79)

GOALS: O’Hanlon 2, Lloyd 2, A. Edwards, Miles, Foley, Bathie
BEST: Foley, Lloyd, Miles, Darrou, Grimes, O’Hanlon

The biggest positives for mine out of the praccy match were:
Griffiths- looks stronger, has filled out a bit which he needed to do, confidence is up and imposed himself on an albeit weak Essendon tall brigade with Daniher in the ruck
McDonut- ran hard, earned his touches, harassed well, is coming on well.
Astbury- an adequate game, is a good enough depth player
Thomas- looks and plays like a 300 game country footballer, leads hard, crashes through and finds the target, impressive game
Banfield- is a good solid footballer, knows how to get the ball
Knights- just good to see him running around in match conditions

I am very impressed with our depth. I am not one for wild March predictions but I agree with Big Tone I am thinking Top 4. We are looking at a situation where there are 23-24 players all with very good claims for selection. I think it's going to be a tough year for Tiger favorites like Jake King and Nathan Foley to get games.

Elton was one I was interested in, kicked a goal too.  I wanted to try and get hold of a rerun and see how he went, anyone have a good look at him?
