Facts are other clubs have done their research and when GC was about to come in, more emphasis was placed on finding VFL gems and once again we were found wanting.

Lachie 203cms soccer background, Simon Buckley, Barlow, etc etc list goes on

the best we could come up with was uum let me see. No one.

Someone who is not doing their job down at Punt Road IMO

Simon Buckley was a Melbourne reject. You'd spew hot rocks if we picked that bloke up.
Derickx was taken from the lower leagues, hasn't had a run at it due to injuries, give him a chance to impress.

daniel I just replied to your intitial comment that we are yet to find anyone decent

key word here was "Anyone"

You didn't say anytwo or three or 10 you said "anyone and I highlighted that in fact we have ONE  ;D

And BTW - as mentioned by gerks, there's DerickX, then throw in  Webberley & Nason who have come from state based leagues as opposed to the U18 comps. Jury is out on whether thay are good selections yet but we are talking about two 2nd year players and one 1st year - too early to call just

buckley is getting games playing for the premiers. Not bad if you ask me.

Likewise leroy Brown. Would be a dud at Punt Road but mick turns crap into water. He is a magician and our recruiters are the most average in the system.

DX, Nason, Webberley, Dea and anyone else have done minimal or nothing. Still young though.
Nason LMFAO at the way he gets dropped by the opposition. Real find there Cameron and co. King has been good but by the time we are challenging he will be retired or close to.

I agree, but if RFC had picked up another delisted player that couldn't get games for the Dees you would be doing your tree.

Same. But I reckon they'll all be on our list next year except Webberley. They should trade Nahas now while he has value.

What I would like to see from a list management perspective:
Tom Scully for 2 first round picks (compo pick)
Jackson, Tuck & McGuane for GWS mini draft pick giving them muscle & midfield grunt
Edwards for Trengrove (PA)
Morton to Sydney for 2nd round pick
Nahas to GC Suns for compo pick to get it back
This gets rid of the cancerous McGuane, Nahas, Edwards, Jackson & Tuck ang gets us Scully, Trengrove plus a young gun.  This draft is horrible anyway so won't hurt too much.

That would be an ambitious yet aggressive trade week!!!!
