I see they are saying that Dangerfield is likely to come under scrutiny for a hit on guess who.....de Boer.

I haven't seen the footage, but this is going to be very interesting to see how it pans out.
Not much in it at all IMHO.

talk me through the difference between that and dustys hit?

100% deserves a week, but wont get it because its geelong
Dusty’s hit was high, low impact and intentional. One week. Can you spot the difference? Clue is the main hit wasn’t high....
The high hit was the second hit and it was just a glance. The player said it was the low blow that winded him.

sorry think you need to watch it again. Bloody oath it was high and it was off the ball.

They will argue intent, not if it was high as the back elbow hit him in the head. he will get off because its dangerfield and they can argue it was not intentional.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Because it's Dangerfield it will be a fine only or really should be two fines for the double hit, one to the stomach and one to the head plus way off the ball.  I know they will argue it was unintentional to the head but where is the line between what you mean and what happened? Last week for Dustin Martin the first impact was to the back of the shoulder so it could be argued there was no intent to make high contact yet high contact was the outcome.  Looks the same for Dangerfield, no intent but the outcome was still high.

I think it's likely to be $1500 for the first hit and $2500 for the second if they have to increase the fine for second offence.  Will be very interesting to see if the same level of vitriol gets thrown at Danger this week compared to Dusty last week.

Can't argue unintentional, look what happened to Houli.

Dangerfield copped a fine.

Dangerfield was far more fortunate, escaping with a $2000 fine following a spiteful duel with Greater Western Sydney tagger Matt de Boer on Saturday.

The first incident, where Dangerfield caught de Boer with an elbow to the stomach, was graded as intentional conduct with low impact to the body by Michael Christian.

However, Christian chose not to sanction the Cats superstar for the second motion in the same incident, where Dangerfield narrowly missed de Boer's head with a swinging arm.

Christian is basically guessing at the moment.
One week it’s the potential to case damage, the next week it’s not even spoken about.
AFL scared of Brownlow night as always.

Imo if Dusty got a week then so should have Dangerfield.

It also tells me that  2 stars in as many weeks that aren’t known for belting blokes have had a go at the same tagger. Could it be he is not playing by the rules??

Well technically he hit both  :shh  2 weeks reduced by tribunal down to 1 for the hit on Kennedy and $1500 for the elbow jab to the stomach of De Boer.  Danger got $2000 for the first elbow jab (obviously $500 bucks harder hit!) and got nothing at all for the second hit which apparently (very luckily for Danger) missed the target.

Yes, the elbow only warranted a fine but then the backhander was deemed to have missed!  So if the backhander missed then why did de Boer go down like a shot Indian holding his head?  If the backhander connected then Danger is up for an intentional strike behind play, but if it missed then shouldn't de Boer be up for staging & disrepute?  Something went missing this week ....  but which one?      :huh
