Gee You mean the club throws more money & resources at the team that generates all the revenue? Fancy that... :shh.

It was a reporting hatchet job on our club.

So if you had to make a choice between retaining our AFLW side or our men's VFL side which one would you choose? Because it looks like the latter will be gone next year... :shh

if thats the case its a disgrace.

The aflw IMO is the worst spectacle on TV and should not be replacing vfl or any other sport for that matter

If the club loses its mens reserves team to placate the aflw then brendon gale should consider resigning as ceo because its completely unacceptable.

People also speculated that on BF and poster Kiwi Tiger who's heavily involved with the club (IRL not just internet bullshyte) also said we won't be fielding a stand alone men's  side.... :shh

Interesting.

But again the soft cap cuts are going to impact everything perhaps this is another example

Running any VFL program costs significant $$$. In days gone by it was always upwards of $500k a year.

And just on the AFLW; the AFL have made it clear there are to be no cuts to the AFLW comp in 2021 and at the time I took that to mean Clubs had to allocate the same minimum $$ in 2021 that they were required to do in 2020. E.g. no change to salary cap.

I am not going to get in to a debate about whether that is right or wrong.

HQ makes the rules and all Clubs have to follow them whether we agree with them or not

So all those warriors on social media who criticized us for dropping VFLW program now owe us an apology seeing as the more important VFL is getting the chop..
Not holding my breath...

AFLW have their own soft cap separate to the Men's.
