Should have had her the whole.  Could have prelisted us in our VFL days for free.  Complete stuff up.

Welcome back Grace

But let's be honest you shouldn't be coming back. Should have been a Tiger from day 1

Monty Python did a sketch once about how to learn to play flute in 3 minutes - you blow through one end & move your fingers up & down on the holes!  Easy!

Now, I'd like our AFLW program to be better too, but I know its much harder to fix the issues than to suggest they just need to draft some star midfielders!   The women's league is being expanded this off-season & just like the men's league all the talent & draft picks are going to the new sides.  There's a dozen or more sides who are queuing up to throw money at any talented players, the odds of getting much out of the next three drafts are near to zero.
All we can do is to develop the players we already have, work hard & try to improve.  As a supporter that's all we can expect them to do in the current climate of the AFLW.  No shake & bake whizz bang solutions are going to land a flag anytime soon.  Frustration, fist-shaking, name-calling & posting stress wont work either.  Work hard & keep the faith ... that's all we can do.  I expect our AFLW people to do just that & I will continue to support them as long as they wear our jumper ...
Now ... what is your plan?
Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!  Loud, proud & dangerous!

Yep I hope we revisit this too. The Club can't argue a decade ago that having our own VFL team was crucial for us to develop and improve our AFL side yet now claim not having our own VFLW side is not a detriment to the development and improvement of our AFLW side. Port Melbourne's VFLW side is also poor sitting 3rd last with just 3 wins from 14 matches. So apart from saving a few bucks in the short term we're not getting any benefit out of the alignment.

To get a couple of star mids who can win the ball, run tbrough lines and kick deep into the forward line. ;D

I hope we are bringing back the VFLW team.

We should be but I'd be very surprised if we do in 2023

Earliest I see it happening is 2024 which is far too late.

Not having a VFLW side has set our program back IMHO

We did a pick swap today.

Richmond trade Pick 52 to Hawthorn for Pick 59 and Pick 62.

So we currently have picks 38, 59, 62 and 86.

What happened to our first and second rounder?

I think the second rounder went for Egan but can’t recall hearing about the first

Expansion teams are dominating this draft.

Hawthorn has received seven first-round selections, followed by Sydney with six, Port Adelaide with five and Essendon with four.

So everybody else gets pushed back accordingly.

We got 2 1st rounders when we entered the comp!

We traded one for Conti and the other for Fredericks.

Hardly fair in comparison but that's the AFL for you.

Your club's trade breakdown: Ins, outs, draft picks, verdict

Gemma Bastiani
womens.afl
9 June 2022

Richmond

In: Grace Egan (Carlton), Libby Graham (GWS), Stephanie Williams (Geelong)

Out: Christina Bernardi (delisted), Sarah Dargan (Sydney), Ingrid Houtsma (Geelong), Akec Makur Chuot (Hawthorn), Hannah McLaren (delisted), Sarah Sansonetti (delisted)

Current draft picks: 38, 59, 62, 86 (21, 33, 34, 46 in VIC)

For the second trade-and-sign period running, Richmond has surprisingly delisted a senior player who seemed to have more in them. Last year it was Phoebe Monahan, this year it is forward Christina Bernardi. Fringe players Sarah Dargan and Akec Makur Chuot have moved on to expansion sides after struggling to earn consistent games at the Tigers, while Ingrid Houtsma heads back to Geelong after spending her junior years at the Geelong Falcons. Interestingly, Grace Egan has returned to Richmond after the club failed to sign her in its inaugural list build, despite having access to her through its then-VFLW program. As they prepare for a full season without key defender Harriet Cordner, the Tigers have brought in athletic Libby Graham, and Stephanie Williams will look to take her development to another level as she aims to get regular opportunity among Richmond's strong attacking line.

Can’t help but think the same, inception clubs have a large advantage
