Hey @one-eyed, if our VFL team do make the final 10, do you know what the ruling is regarding how many games the AFL listed players are allowed to have played in the seniors to stay eligible to play in the VFL finals?

Assuming it's still the same rules as last year, amc11.

Competition rules state that players must have featured in six VFL games during that particular season, and played no more than 12 AFL games*, to be eligible to play in the VFL finals.[

* AFL games where players had been unused medical substitutes would not count against their eligibility to play during the VFL finals.

https://www.afl.com.au/news/832363/vfl-ticks-off-will-setterfield-selection-for-carlton-against-collingwood-after-eligibility-queries

Excluded: Ross (16* AFL games), Young (16*), Mansell (15), Ryan (14), Miller (13), Ralphsmith (13) and Clarke (13 but injured anyway) who have played VFL this year.

I'm not sure if being injured and not playing at all at any level for a lengthy period is a caveat. Seth Campbell missed most of the year with a groin injury. Even if he plays both of the last two VFL H/A games then he will only have played 5 VFL games which would exclude him as well. Not really fair if he is ineligible due to being injured.

Eligible: Cumberland (9 AFL games), M.Rioli (8 ), Banks (5), Soldo (5*), Coulthard (3*), Sonsie (3), Bauer (2*), Dow (1*), plus all those who have only played VFL this year (Brown, Biggie, Bradtke, Green, Trezise).

I thought the exception to that rule was if your AFL side was still playing finals there was no cap

Yes Seth Campbell will be very unlucky especially considering all the byes this year and I'm fairly sure the last bye would have been one where he would've played some game time.

That sums us up. Two open forward targets and Green misses them both by 10m and it goes for a throw-in :facepalm.
