He delivered us a premiership in 2019 off his boot so he’s worth al the $$$$$

Tom Lynch

Since joining the Tigers, Lynch has been solid without putting up the numbers he was at the Gold Coast. However, his start to the practice game against the Cats suggested he’s ready to become the focal point of the Richmond forward line. He had two goals in the first quarter alone and presented well with a number of big grabs as well.

Has had a few good games but if you look at the body of work it’s not a $1m player’s output is it?

It’s not his fault we were stupid enough to make the deal.

Saying that, go back to 2015, what would you have paid to win 1 flag in the next 5 years??

Harsh blaming the key forwards for our midfield's failure to win the ball and us continually having to start our attacks from D50 with 22 opposition players in front of us.

In any case, when we signed Lynch's contract there wasn't all these stupid new rules like the Stand rule that have caused the lowest return from key forwards in Coleman medal history. Carlton had Cripps, Kennedy, Cerra and Hewett winning the ball out of the middle at will and yet McKay and Curnow hardly contributed. Teams now flood back into D50 thanks to the Stand rule making it harder for key forwards. Another moronic SHocking legacy  ::).

When we do win it though he is constantly caught behind and gives away heaps of free kicks.  So frustrating.  Where is his will to run at full pace and jump at the ball smashing packs and taking contested marks.  Just wants to wrestle and give free kicks away now.

Despite all his ups & downs Tom Lynch has already proved he can play.  Very few (in fact none!) of the KPF's in the league are ripping the world open at the seams like they would a few years ago, so whatever the reasons for that, Tom Lynch isn't solely to blame.  The only players who kicked bags this week were unknown rookies!
I can't think of any better reason other than SHocking's single handed destruction of a great game ... so let's go with that!     ;D

Play him in the ruck for small spurts to get him going.

Because of our turnover based game plan that starts from defence we typically have zero space in our forward 50 for our forwards to lead into. It’s always congested. If we ever start to win some ball from stoppages Lynch and Jack can lead and kick a few bags.

Granted, it would be handy if our midfield could win a centre clearance or two, but you guys make a lot of excuses for a bloke on that kind of coin.

Tell me, what is he elite at?…

He is on elite money is he not?…

Not as bad as Tom Boyd but I'm getting a similarly themed vibe.

Pivotal to a flag, otherwise hasn't reached the contract's indicated potential.

Was really disappointing tonight. Couldn’t hold a mark if his life depended on it. Balta was worse.

Granted our inside 50’s were rubbish but it doesn’t help when a forward isn’t willing to lead to space.

I don’t understand the reluctance.
