Jack would make a good captain although he needs to sort himself out first
Kicking across the body garbage cost him 3 goals last night
Would think Rance and Chaplin would make good captains
Lids as well
As so over Cotchin it ain't funny
Reckon he lost me by not taking the no 17 and then I assumed that he was all about himself
Reckon I am right

Chaplin should be nowhere near an AFL captain.

Lids should be.
Go Tigers!

Disagree with the Chaplin .he would be a good captain
He understands the game better than 99% of the playing group
Strategy wise he would be good
Instead of the captain we now have patting guys on the bum all night

He may understand the game well, but I couldn't respect a captain who has done some of the stupid things on field that chaplin has - the pedestrian chase in last years elim final when he had 25metres of space to get beaten to the ball... was just embarrassing (and that's not an isolated incident). He can use that footy brain when he retires and gets into coaching, atm his onfield actions are not leadership material

Well I reckon he is
Didn't want to take the no 17 when made captain
Didn't want to be involved in the " cotchies cubs " at punt rd anymore
He is hardly a leader on the field
Great footballer , poor leader

Why didn't he take 17? He said it was because he was number 9 already, a number with great history, and he wanted to create his own history. I don't have an issue with that personally.

Why did he quit Cotchies Cubs? Bloke has training, games, recovery, reviews, leadership meetings, sponsorship commitments, a wife and his own newly born child to think of. There could be any number of good reasons. Not everybody is great with kids like Richo etc. Some of these blokes are just footballers, not high-school peer support group leaders for toddlers...

I agree his own-field leadership is lacking. Think your comments about him off-field are pretty childish though. You probably don't know him from a bar of soap...

Jack clearly goes to a lot of club functions etc...

If he thinks Cotchin is an ordinary bloke then why can't he say so?
Who isn't a fan of the thinking man's orange Tim Fleming?

FWIW I've spoken to Cotch at club functions and he has been a gentleman. Not sure what you are talking about Jack.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

To be fair, we don't know much about most footballers outside of their club though.......
