Coache' I havnt seen the kid play
I've had a look at his stats on the port website, they don't look too bad. But I guess I would be looking for excellent or great as opposed to not bad.
Iyo, why shouldn't we go after him? I still don't know much about him after 8 pages in this thread

He plays mostly as a 3rd tall or loose man. Like I said before, I'd take him as a 3rd tall but not sure we need one? He doesn't get a gig at FB or CHB for Port so why would he get one here? He is a bit soft and his kicking can be suspect. I've said that I think he can play but I think we're better off chasing a better shut down defender. Someone like Merrett.

All I want is for the people here to tell me why they think Chaplin is a very good player. WAT stated that Chaplin is a very good player but won't give his reasons.

have read elsewhere.  on chaplin  he was almost a tiger last yr.  i know we went hard at a few kpds last yr, anyway we asked    port offered him up not sure of the details the deal almost got done then port wanted more the deal fell thru.
chaplin was informed that port was offering him up hence why he has not signed this yr i suppose he didnt like being offered up. its why we have the front running i suppose.

we need backline depth we need depth everywhere. chaplins yr hasnt been great this yr but id say his heart is not in the place.

hes no world beater but hes a damn solid player  and at  195/100  hes solid in other ways as well. such a big kpd who also provides plenty of rebound we sure could do with him.

i reckon he had a very good 2009 and 2010 performing both roles as a rebounder and a stopper.  more than capable of playing on the bigger forwards in the comp.
some are right when they say hes playing as a third tall atm but thats not to say he cant play kpd on the big buggers.
i have no hesitation in saying hes a much better player in the air than alex rance.

If it works out for us and he becomes a decent chb then Griff can move forward.
Looks good on paper IF it works out.  :thumbsup

Greg Denham was on SEN and he thinks its certain.
At the end of the day I just want to see the club make the right moves, if this is one of them the grat one. And if not what are other suggestions for our KPP's??

He plays mostly as a 3rd tall or loose man. Like I said before, I'd take him as a 3rd tall but not sure we need one? He doesn't get a gig at FB or CHB for Port so why would he get one here?

With Grimes mostly chopping out for Rance but being injured he hasn't been able to. Or Maric but he doesnt seem to drift back much anymore (probally the rumoured groin injury). Right now we usually use an undersized Newman to try and chop out. So maybe we could do with another 3rd tall, imo.
He could also play as our FB/CHB and not Port because we don't have a steady CHB seems to change every 4 weeks. Before you ask I've never seen him play or his stats or been interested in him. Just giving my opinion on what needs he could possibly fill.
