Port are a rabble of a club.

it was reported ages ago we would target chaplain.

you would have thought that by now they would have a plan of what they would and would they wouldn't offer.

How long did it take st kilda to announce they wouldnt match essendons offer on goddard?

Adeleaide had probably already made up their mind that knights would go.

what a basket case of a club.

I reckon PAFC will let Chaplin come to us and they're just being weeners about it. Doesn't seem much point getting a bloke to stay on for 4 years who has completely resigned himself from the club.

Here's some positive posts about chaplin from the Poort bf board:

Quote
He's a better player than Carlile and had a better season than Trengove. I'm not sure why Port supporters always focus on his one clanger. I reckon Pearce would have a higher ratio of clangers to disposals,

Chaplin has his downsides, but he is still a damn good player. People thinking that a 2nd round draft pick is better than keeping an already developed 100+ gamer is delusional.

Adelaide radio saying Leon Cameron has pulled out of the running to be Port's new coach and he is off to be 2nd in command to Sheedy at GWS.

So Port will be making the decision on Chaplin's future without a senior coach.

THE Port Adelaide Football Club confirms that Danyle Pearce is clear to sign a contract with the Fremantle Football Club and will leave Alberton under new free agency rules.

Port Adelaide is still considering its position in relation to the offer the Richmond Football Club has put to Troy Chaplin, and is also assessing its own options in the free agency period.

They have 72 hours to say "yeah or nay"

They drew out the 72 hours with Pearce but said cya

Looks like thy are doing the same with Chaplin... :sleep :sleep

They have bigger issues than Chaplin to worry about... Like finding a coach  ;D

I have no doubt Chaplin will come.

Port will be just a shell of a club by the time free agency and trade week will be over. ;D

Maybe a couple of OER's resident "experts" should give Keith Thomas a ring and offer their services to be Port's next coach

Be interesting to see what the AFL gives Port as compensation for there Net Lose of  Pearce and Chaplin.

This net lose thing everyone on bigfooty is talking about does that mean they might get one good pick instead of a pick for each players worth?

I thought they would to get a pick for each player

Would laugh my head off if the picks they get for Chaplin and Pearce are higher than the one Essendon gets for Monfries. ;D

Port are what were circa 2002-04.

PA have interest in luring the likes of monfries and possibly russell to their club, im sure they will ultimately decide their cap would be getter spent on those keen to play

Same. Maybe its only if they pick up a free agency it comes into consideration for the compensation of the player you lost.

Quote
Compensation
Clubs will be compensated by way of draft picks if they are deemed to have a net loss in the free agency period. The compensation falls into one of five categories - a first-round pick immediately following the club's first round pick, an end of first-round pick, a second-round pick immediately after the club's second round pick, an end of second-round pick or a third-round pick immediately after the club's third round selection.
