TROY CHAPLIN (Richmond)

Tired of the fish-bowl lifestyle in Adelaide, Chaplin opted to join Richmond as a free agent and is set to add some experience to a young backline. Chaplin crosses from the Power, where he played 140 games. At 195cm and 100kg, Chaplin has the size to become a pillar of defence at Punt Rd, despite question marks being raised, particularly late in the season, over his disposal. Turnovers and skill errors plagued the 26-year-old for much of 2012, but a troublesome knee could provide some explanation. He had surgery on that knee after the season and he believes the Tigers can push for a flag in the next few years.

If we are to go after a free agent or a big fish, we need a goal kicking freak....not sure if there are likely to be an available...but i dnt reckon chaplin is worth the effort. Peter McCormack II :lol

That's harsh on Chappy but I agree about Rance. best defender we have had since Jim Jess

Port fans absolutely do not rate this guy. Hope he's a good pickup for us!  Would love to rub their bogan faces in it.

Sour grapes on their part. Chappy moves well, racks up plenty of footy and uses it well. He's also close to unbeatable one on one + his closing speed is an asset. Fantastic pick up and well done to all involved. Don't worry about what Port are saying, just know that Troy is going play a big part in our push for finals. :thumbsup

Loved Wigney. Gets a bad wrap from some but he was a good CHB. But I am sorry, Rance is our best since Jess. Well, he's probably better than old Jim. That's how good our Rancer is.
