spud the dud never ever gave him an honest chance, any remember ezra poyas, he had great foot skills and showed gr8 promise too but spud screwed him over and many more also!

Another one from the 1999 draft in which we scored zero long-term players :scream - Fiora, Poyas, Homewood, Mills and Zantuck! Only good thing to come out of that draft was Leon Cameron but long-term we missed out on Mitch Hahn from the Doggies :-\.

Ezra's still running around with Sandy isn't he?

Yep certainly is - Allways thought he may have made it but alas.
I actually bumped into him doing a few laps of the tan the other day.

Keep. :thumbsup

Here are some quotes from Kayne, from an article in the current issue of Inside Football, which relate to his previous form.

On what held him back early days

“A bit of mindset, probably a lack of opportunity, my confidence wasn’t really there because I was in and out of the side.  It put me back a fair bit those early years because being a high draft pick you come in and sort of expect to play games.  I thought I’d made it when I got drafted but I had to get my mind right.  They say that after a few years the penny drops and for me it took a while, but it finally happened.”

Richmond Fans

“It’s hard to win our supporters over and I suppose this year I’ve won them over a bit after getting bagged for most of the last four years.  It (the criticism from Tiger fans) was pretty daunting when you pick up the paper and see people saying the club has wasted a draft pick – it plays on your mind.  To be copping that at 18 and 19 is pretty tough.”

He was played out of position most of his career, a poor mans nathan brown who was subjected to HBF duties!  :help
