Best game Joel played IMO

The Port game stands out for mine for his mark in the dying seconds but the other 39 possies - well it all comes down to quality not quantity - that's my logic ;D

If Joel can win the stats he was at the start of the season on the wing or forwardline then I say he is a champion but if his marks and desposals are all uncontested....well then despite what champion data says he is a hinderance more than a help.

Interesting to see if Joel struggles early on in the season next year as the excuse is he hasn't been able to do a full preseason due to his knees for 4-5 years now. He needs to play a number of games before he returns to peak fitness.

To stay in our best 22 IMO he's going to need to play more in the forward line and/or off the bench.

All the more remarkable that he featured 3 times when he has dodgy knees, plus the high % of his disposal effectiveness for the number of times he gets the footy.

Saw a list of the top 20 in the 2008 JD Medal the other week. He came 11th after a slow start and being dropped.

Bowden is a good example of a player that will need to sacrifice his game to remain relevant.  His build and the positions that he plays are the ones with the most competition on our list. So if he does make it, well he'll have earned his place in the team.

Joel is a 2 time All Australian with the ability to play in a number of positions. With the list now definitely stronger than in recent yeas he may be able to move around a bit and have an impact but will not IMO spend so long onfield.

Let's not disrespect Joel. Beside Richo he is not a Tiger hero but who would be? he has given great service to us.

Why do we find it necessary to bag blokes that have given great service to our club? I think it's weak and just shows what sort of persons you really are!
He may not be as tough as some before him or as accountable as others but what he has done is run out for our great club over 250 times, won 2 B&F and been All Australian 2 times as well. And much more...
If he does struggle to get a game this year (and i don't think he will) he should be given the respect he has earned over 12 or so years regardless of our opinion of him.
He is a Tiger and that should be enough for you as it is for me.
Good luck Joely and thank you.
