The bye
« on: July 03, 2012, 06:55:26 PM »
Not sure if its been mentioned previously but of the teams that had the bye last week only the Hawks won and they played Carlscum who also had a bye last week. Am sure for other bye weeks teams also had similar results so it does give some insight into how tough it is for teams the following week after a bye especially when coming up against an interstate team on their home ground who didn't have a bye the previous week. It also provides us with some understanding into why we didnt run out the Crows game as well as we have done for most of the games this season.

With statistics sure to show a bye being a disadvantage when playing a team that didn't have a bye the week before it will be interesting with the AFL considering bringing in two byes for next season which teams get the best draw. After our horror draw to start this season a couple of byes followed by interstate trips next season could also make life very difficult.
