According to Barrett tonight,

Hurley wants his Essendon contract (signed until 2017) torn up and, if he stays, rewritten to $1 million p.a. contract. That's the figure he reckons he can get on the open market from other clubs.

Heppell to sue Essendon for loss of income etc. Insurance pays him out, this isn't included in the salary cap and then he continues to play for Essendon!

If we could get Hurley and gets some games into some of our kids this year, it would be worth taking that small step backwards IMO.
Hurley is exactly what we need.
Make him an offer too good to refuse, it's that simple!!
Nobody needs to know the figure, it's got nothing to do with anyone other than himself and the club. People will speculate but big deal.
