"heard on 7 game day it looks like a classic AC joint and hopefully just a couple of weeks, but don't think that's definite."

Replaceable talent.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Question: Why can't you be a mid that also plays back? Everyone talks about mids that go forward to "rest". Floss can't play forward. He looks lost. Why can't we "rest" him back?
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Replaceable talent.

I was all for trying him as a mid/fwd but he just looks lost and I don't know whether it's worth preserving with. However, I like him down back so I think a decision has to be made whether he finds his feet in the VFL as a mid/fwd or he goes back.

Fair question YBB, I think the idea is that as a FWD you can somewhat dictate how much effort and running you have to do i.e. play deep foward and lead out from the square or you can play as a higher forward and work up and down the field depending how much energy you have and it's the opposition who decides who to play on you. In the backline you have to find a match up that works and they can try and exploit your midfield minutes. Using Adelaide as an example, you can't just plunk Vloss on Walker because he's the deepest forward as Walker would likely out body him and you can't play him on a player like Lynch or Cameron/Betts because they could just work you up and down the field when you're supposed to be having a "rest".

He looked good enough when he went forward in his first year and has played well in the guts as recently as last year, I'm still confident he can be a genuine, solid three line player....

When you say "can't play forward" are you judging that off the first 7 games?

He has played back basically since he was drafted, its going to take some time for him to adjust. More than 7 games anyway.

He is a good mark on the lead and strong enough to compete one on one. I think he is worth more time in the midfield then going forward.

Although with him in the backline you know what you'll get and it's better than most on here give him credit for imo.

Pretty important player to our side.

Any chance one of the medical experts on here could expand on

Would appear that he's had a fracture somewhere in the scapula region. Injury can be 3 -30 weeks depending on severity of it. Would recommend aspro and a lie down on the non scapula side

At least they didn't send him back out like they did with Shane Tuck.
