Knights to coach Richmond rumour
« on: July 31, 2009, 03:03:24 PM »
Another most likely garbage rumour ....... This poster on BomberBlitz has media connections though.

I wasn't going to post this here, but now that it has been all over the radio I thought it was worthy to be looked at and discussed.

A rumour going around is that Richmond will be announcing that Knights will be their head coach in 2010. Apparently both Richmond and Knights have agreed not to discuss this publicly until Essendon's challenge for a finals campaign is over.

Personally, I don't believe it. BUT, given it has now been reported on 3AW, SEN and C10 I am starting to think there may be some truth to it. The media outlet I work in have contacted both Richmond and Knights who have offered no comment. Richmond have said they are still going through a process and will make a comment in due course.

I have also received 3 pms this morning from people on BB who are usually in the know suggesting they have heard similar.

I don't believe it, but at least we can say we had it on BB first if it does come true.

So Matthew Knights is going to break his contract with the Bombers for 2010 - yes he is contracted for 2010

And we are conducting interviews for no reason

Well that was interesting, it has the bummer fans worked up.

Some funny comments on bagging our list when the obvious escapes them that we just beat them and could be said to have the wood on them in the last few years.

Wouldn't mind if it was true but I doubt it.

Yep lost on them is we beat them with a side 1.5 years younger per player and with overall half the playing experience. 12 Tigers to 7 Bombers U23 as well. So much for them being the "baby" bombers :whistle

We've owned them in recent years which is why they get so cut. 7 wins from the last 9 games.

ooh please a few days ago you came out and said "WE MUST SIGN UP RAWLINGS NOW"

now you come out with the "WE CANT MESS WITH THE PROCESS"

Your second comment is most correct pal and if we are to be serious we must see this out till the end and not be persuaded by outside influences like a few cheap wins against useless opposition ar a Hardwick that may be snapped up by Port.

See it out till the end and offer a 2 year deal, which by the way will be Rawlings

Given he's contracted for 2010 and getting a pay rise for next year over and above his original contracted salary I somehow doubt he'd be coming to Richmond. I'm kinda glad too as I'm sure we can do better.

Sheeds would use us to twist the arm of Essendon into giving him a new contract. Perhaps Knighter when under him has learnt the same trick to try and cement his position beyond next year.

i dont believe the rumor but who knows hey

btw , so what if knights is contracted, there is no law that says you cannot leave ur workplace while contracted if something better comes along

why is it ok for coaches to be sacked and not ok for coaches to walk away, rememember wallace has walked away from 2 contracts b4 they expired lol

for the same reasons I dont want Rawlings to be our coach, I dont want Knights to become our coach. I hope the rumour is wrong.

This thread is as much a joke as it was that Bux would be our next coach.
