Don't think we're getting pick 18 for Castagna. Or 36 for that matter.

And yet somehow Adelaide can trade Harry Wig for pick 39.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

If Carlton get pick 10 AND a first rounder next year in a very deep draft for an over-the-hill 29 next year Gibbs, Im going to stuffing spew. Apparently the deal didnt get done cause they wanted MORE!?

Lids might not be 2ce the player Gibbs is, but hes a bonafied match-winner.

This trade period is truly stuffed.
They're squabbling over later picks according to Ch 7 news tonight.

ps. I did laugh when Tom Browne said Adelaide not getting Gibbs this time last year cost them a flag. Yeah, because Gibbs is the epitome of pressure footy :pillowfight.

On Schache:

Ricky Nixon reckons if Schache does get traded (which may not be so), it'll be a last minute 1:59pm deal tomorrow to Richmond.

Mark Stevens on Ch 7 however reckons it is the Bulldogs who are the likely destination if Schache is traded and Lin Jong's name has been thrown up as going up to Brisbane.

Throw in also that it's claimed Schache's manager has told clubs that his client won't be moving to their club unless $380k p.a. is on offer.

On what I saw of the Crows in the Grand Final, I reckon Gibbs would be their toughest, hardest, most desperate player if he joined them.

I can't  believe Adelaide are giving Carlton a free hit like this. 2 first rounders is insane

Desperate or just dumb

I think Adelaide are playing it very smart.
Watch them get another first round pick for Cameron tomorrow giving them 5 first round picks for the next two drafts.
They get rid of two for Gibbs and Carltons second round pick next year and they still have one pick this year and potentially 3 picks in the top 25 for next years super draft which is touted to carry a head of good SA kids.
Not bad for a team who played in a GF this year....

While losing 2 of their best 6 players, yeah genius

On Schache:

If thats true then stuff him. You dont come across to a premiership side and demand overs. Half the blokes wearing medals are on less than that. I was still hoping we might snag this kid; remember hearing about him as a jr, but thats a joke.
