True rogerd3. Today followed yesterday's quips about us being relegated to a second division in an expanded 18 comp. We and especially Wallace are in the media's gunsights big time.

Sorta like fishing up North, just chuck a piece of red paper on a hook and you get a bite.
Not really hard at all.

Sheahan says he still thinks we'll improve

Tigers the topic again on the radio tonight.

Mike was on 3aw earlier tonight saying how disappointed he was in us last Friday night as he thought we'd be the big improvers this year (well we can't get any worse than last Mike lol). He said despite the poor preseason game he still thinks we'll be much better this year.

The results of these preseason games are meaningless but hopefully winning comfortably keeps the media wolves from the Punt Rd door for the time being. The loser of last night's game was going to be under the gun.

It is obvious that us and the Dees would struggle this year. Problem is the Dees have a new coach and we have one in the fourth year of a five year contract so we are the better bet to have a go against. Also Tiger fans tend to jam the hotlines to voice their disapprovals over a game whereas Melbourne fans get into the Range Rovers fill the suitcase take the chains for the tyres and go to the snow. Melbourne despite their results this year will not be under the eyes of scrutiny as we are. We just have to win regularly to keep the media speculation and headhunting to a minimum and the wolves from our door.

That's true HT74. Eade and the doggies will have to produce too for that reason of being in the job as long as Plough. As you predicted there was no mention of the Dees losing today and no angry Dee callers.

Rohan says "Richmond will be crap"

I can actually understand why he would say that too.
As I have said numerous times, it has nothing to do with the scoreboard but the way you play.
Carlton were terrrible in the first half last nite but showed something in the second half.
Richmonds game plan was crap against the saints, same as the majority of last year.. If the tiges are going to dish up short kicks, sideways backwards and doing "'circle work ""in D 50 each week, nothing is more certain, they will be CRAP! And will win the wooden spoon!

When the Hawks had put the cue in the rack?

Mitchell and Buddy didnt even step foot on the ground in the 2nd half.

The hawks were playing for next week, no doubt about it.
